May 24 is Brazil’s Dia Nacional do Cafe, established by ABIC and commonly tied to the start of the coffee harvest season there.

Even if you’re just having a normal cup at home, this is one of those dates that pulls the whole industry back to the beginning of the chain: farms, harvest timing, processing, and the work it takes before coffee ever reaches a roaster.

It’s International Tea Day (May 21), so we’re leaning into a cafe classic crossover: the Dirty Chai - chai tea with a shot of espresso.

Quick recipe (iced):
Fill a glass with ice
Add 1/2 cup chai (strong brewed chai or concentrate)
Add 1/2 cup milk
Pour a double shot of espresso on top

Tip: Brew your chai extra-strong and let it cool before building the drink - that’s how you keep the flavour rich instead of diluted.

They’ve got hands-on workshops, tastings, and competitions, including Spain’s National Latte Art Championship, and even a Best Coffee award decided by live blind cupping.
