Colour changing Landscape Mix of Fall planted bulbs that sure to impress. Both varieties in this mix are colour changing each unique ranging in colours from pastel pinky, peachy, apricot, dusty salmon and bronzy tones. One is a double peony type tulip, the other is a classic single. They have a mid season overlap bloom time, so they give you early spring colours for several weeks! Blooming begins around the time lilacs are just budding up. This landscape mix is new this year, however we’ve been growing these impressive individual colours on our farm for many years. These are perennial here. Just think of how envious your neighbours will be with these beauties splashing unique colours so early next season!!! 😉 This mix is now available for pre-ordering on our website at www.hotchkissflowerfarm.ca

Are your root vegetables not sizing up? Do they put on a lot of green growth, but just don’t do well under ground? Even after fertilizing, amending or adding compost or manure?? I had that problem before too and this is how I fixed it…..
In my case, the soil had all kinds of nutrients in it, but the nutrients the plant required to size up its root crop were not soluble to the plant. The nutrients were locked up in the soil. The plants were getting mostly nitrogen and not enough of everything else. Microorganisms are what makes those nutrients available to the plant by unlocking the bound up nutrients turning them into soluble food for the plant. How I fixed it was added soil microbiology in the form of worm castings. In the fall is a great time to add worm castings to start working on soil health to prepare for next year. I have various worm casting products available that I use on my soil in the fall if anyone is interested.
