We love seeing our kids taking on more responsibility and learning new things. Small square baling is always a good place to learn how to operate. He made his first 1000 bales today!

"USMARC just released new research regarding breed-specific heterosis for growth and carcass traits in 18 United States cattle breeds, and Gelbvieh-sired females were the only Bos ta**us females with a maternal weaning weight advantage. The data revealed that Gelbvieh-influenced females had a maternal weaning weight advantage of 22.7 pounds."

Read "Made to Mother" in the September issue of The Profit Picture to learn why data continues to prove Gelbvieh is the maternal breed of choice, available at https://gelbvieh.org/news/publications/profit-picture.

One of our favorite parts of the cattle business is getting opportunities to meet new people from different places. We really enjoyed our visit. Thanks Scott and Lisa for bringing some great folks out for a tour.

A group of all black SLC cows with pretty well all RWG Horse Power calves at side makes for one of our favorite pastures to check!

With late spring calving almost complete, here's Leona 16 G with her bullcalf sired by CLR Mayday 45M. We're impressed with Mayday's offspring. All calves born unassisted. Leona 16G is a daughter of Birch's the Boxer, and is owned in partnership with Cowlick Ranch of Olds, Alberta.

This guy has been out breeding for a couple months and still looks like this! His calves might be our most exciting sire group, they are a very consistent type and style. Definitely keep an eye out for his progeny in the future.
