Dropped off an order for Tina and left with a couple things including a jar of spicy pickled fiddleheads!🔥

This is what we love most about this work, Indigenous businesses showing up for each other. Tina's shelves at Nekoles Ponderosa carrying Wabanaki Maple, and us bringing a little of her shop home with us — that's reciprocity in action.

With June 21st National Indigenous Peoples Day just around the corner, we wanted to take a moment to celebrate the local Indigenous-owned businesses doing incredible things in their communities. Go say hi to Tina at if you're in the area — and pick up something special while you're there.

Today is Wolastoqiyik Treaty Day — June 4th.
When we chose the name Wabanaki Maple, it was a deliberate act of respect.
The Wabanaki Confederacy — the Wolastoqiyik, Mi'kmaq, Penobscot, Abenaki, and Passamaquoddy peoples — have always embodied something we hold close to our hearts. Coming together as one. Caring for the land. And honouring all those who came before us.
The Peace and Friendship Treaties that the Wolastoqiyik signed were built on those same values — the right to their land, their communities, and their way of life. Those treaties still stand today.
Our name is our commitment to never forget that.
We're grateful to be doing what we do, on this land, every single day. 🌿

🍁 National Indigenous History Month | June 2026

Today marks the beginning of National Indigenous History Month — a time to reflect, to honour, and to celebrate the resilience, cultures, and contributions of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit peoples across Turtle Island.

As Wabanaki Maple — a proud Indigenous-owned business rooted in Wabanaki territory — this month holds deep meaning for us. Our business is built on a relationship with the land that our ancestors have tended for generations. That connection doesn’t begin and end with a product. It lives in every tree, every season, and every community that has called this land home since time immemorial.

This June, we want to take a moment to go beyond our own story and acknowledge the incredible strength and diversity of Indigenous peoples and businesses across this country. There are so many voices, so many traditions, and so many communities doing extraordinary work — preserving languages, protecting lands, building economies, and passing wisdom forward to the next generation.

To every Indigenous community, elder, knowledge keeper, youth, and entrepreneur — we see you, we honour you, and we stand with you.
