Hello Port Alberni!

On behalf of the Home Town Take Over Team, We are so excited to announce the first-ever Quay to Quay Salmon Bike Run! We are looking for enthusiastic locals who love biking to help us create a brand-new, fun, and whimsical tradition.

We want to see the community come together to bring the spirit of the Salmon Run to life and enjoy the wonderful Quay pathways your town has to offer! Let's show the world what Port Alberni has to offer. Grab your bikes, get creative, and let’s make the route from Victoria Quay to Harbour Quay for a bright, colourful spectacle.

When: Wednesday, July 22nd

Where: Starting at Victoria Quay, heading to Harbour Quay

Theme: Salmon Bike Run – think bright, whimsical, and fun! We encourage you and your family to decorate your bikes at home to celebrate your town's beauty and character. It is also a great moment to craft with your kids! We will also have fun Salmon themed crafts to add to your bike on the day but we really do want to see your kids' home creations 🙂

The Afternoon Schedule:

9:00 AM: Community gathering! Join us to decorate your bikes, chat with our guest host, and share your stories (we’ll be doing some fun filming interviews!).

10:15 AM: We set off on the Parade! Please be ready to roll at 4:15 PM sharp.

How to join the fun: If you want to be a part of this amazing community event, please email me at [email protected] as soon as possible and let us know how many family members will be joining you.

Wardrobe:
For wardrobe please remember we need everyone to wear clothes with no logos. Everyone can wear their usual style, but we need to ensure there are no visible logos, as we won't be able to clear them, which could prevent us from using the footage. When in doubt wear something simple and plain.
