SEPTEMBER’S CONSERVAS CLUB, UNBOXED 🐟

Three tins, three completely different ways to open one:

NURI SARDINES WITH LEMON. Pinhais, Portugal. Hand packed, paper wrapped, the gold standard. If you only ever eat one sardine, make it this one.

SMOKED GEODUCK. Wildfish Cannery, Alaska. Pronounced gooey-duck, and yes, it’s a clam. A very large one. Alderwood smoked, sweet, deeply savoury.

GALICIAN MUSSELS WITH GARLIC AND CHILI. La Narval, Galicia. Plump, a little heat, made for tipping onto good bread.

October’s box is packed and we’re keeping the tins under wraps for now (one is a members-first you won’t find on our shelf yet 👀). What we can tell you: every October member gets a Conservas Club tote, on us.

NEW FACE. SAME GOOD STUFF.

Wandy Cheng, brush in hand, on the other side of our glass. 614 Gerrard looks like a whole new shop from the sidewalk and we cannot stop walking outside to look at it.

Come see it in person. Then come in, obviously. There’s cheese to cut, tins to argue about and something good to open on a Friday.

MEET THE ARTIST BEHIND OUR NEW WINDOW 🎨

Over 60 painters answered our call out, and picking just one was no easy task. Today, we’re thrilled to introduce Wandy Cheng (Wandy Cheng).

Wandy is a Toronto artist and muralist whose work is vibrant, joyful, and full of good food. You may already know her murals at Nella Cucina and Karma Food Co-op, or her window designs along Riverside for the BIA’s Winter Wonderland.

Best part? She’s from the neighbourhood. Wandy knows these streets, and now she’s bringing that local magic right here to our window.

She’s taken our brand colours, our favourite things, and a whole lot of her own flair, and turned them into the first new Good Cheese window in nine years.

She’s painting today and tomorrow, so stop by 614 Gerrard St E to watch it come to life, or follow along in our stories.

NINE YEARS ON THE GLASS. TIME FOR A NEW ONE. 🎨

Today we’re taking down the window painting that’s welcomed our neighbours on Gerrard East for nearly a decade, and clearing the way for a brand new mural.

When we put out a call for painters, the response was incredible. Thank you to every artist who shared their work with us. Choosing wasn’t easy.

Our first new window in nine years is officially on its way, and we’ll be revealing the artist behind it very soon.

What an extraordinary week for new products! We’ve added over 50 new products to the shop in the past seven days and they are honestly all bangers. Quality over quantity always, we know that. But sometimes you get to have both! We have Ferdi's pies in the freezer, ANDERS FREDERIK STEEN & back on the shelf. 𝙰𝚁 𝙳𝙴 𝙰𝚁𝚃𝙴 tins are back after a loooong hiatus, Alpine Blossom in the case for the first time. Plus new beers from Godspeed Brewery & Counterpart Brewing, and *finally* milk chocolate from Soul Chocolate. It’s Christmas as Good Cheese so head over to the site or stop on by!
