We pulled most of the last of the squash crop yesterday! Squash wash in the barnyard today🤠

Squash is easy to cook with, and provides dense caloric nourishment through the fall and winter months👨‍🍳

We are offering wholesale bushels for all. Majority of our crop is buttercup, and will store great for several months. Pick up a squash bushel in Balderson today or through the next month for only 30.00🔥🔥🔥😊😊😊

Giving our perennial sugar rush peach woody pepper trees a special treat of compost tea on this beautiful sunny day!

What makes these sugar rush peach peppers so special that we would over winter and save them year to year for 4 seasons now?

The sugar rush peach pepper belongs to the baccatum species of pepper and finds its genetics stemming from central and South America.

Unlike annum and chinense species, the baccatum species produces a unique citrus fruit forward flavour with floral undertones not found in other species and varieties of pepper.

The heat comes on late and lingers, and is comparable in level to a mild habanero.

They take their time fully ripening to a beautiful mango orange hue, and produce showy flowers with gorgeous lime green markings at the base of the petals.

Though we save most of these peppers for our sunny days hot sauce, you can find limited drops week to week for the next month or so at the Perth Farmers' Market on Saturday as well as picked up on the farm 🔥🌶️🫑💚😎🤠

The seranos are proving themselves as quite resilient in this less than ideal cool and wet season for peppers.

Seranos are great made into mild sauce, pickled, preserved in olive oil, or battered and fried up, it’s a tasty, multi faceted pepper with cultural significance in both Mexican and Italian cuisine.

We are back at the Perth Farmers' Market this Saturday and will have lots on hand for those who wish to stock up to make preserves for the colder months ahead!

So sorry for the radio silence, I know it’s been a while!

We scaled the farm back this season to focus on cleaning up the landscape and getting things organized.

We were able to grow a sizeable crop of peppers, squash, basil and garlic as well as some okra and tomatoes.

You can find our farm fresh produce on saturdays in Lanark village, next to Dragon Moon at Ali McCormicks farm stand! She grows an amazing assortment of seasonal veggies and has the most beautiful flower bouquets around! If you are lucky, you may even get to hear her play some music for you 🤠

Reach out to Zach if you’d like any wholesale quantities of jalapenos, shish*toes, seranos, or habaneros as well as okra and basil.
