Snow peas and garden peas planted outside into large pots. Later, I will install tomato cages for their tendrils to climb on. In the past, rabbits have chewed on the plants that's why i plant them now in these pots which will be harder for rabbits to reach.

Single red trillium on our farm's forest trails among white ones.
Many years ago, we volunteered to help build a bridge across a creek in a conservation area in London, ON. I remember seeing many red trilliums. Apparently, red trilliums mimic rotting flesh in appearance and scent and attract flies to pollinate them. So cool!

Farmer Girl. I just bought myself a new set of floral rubber boots for working in the garden. Our garlic plants are doing well especially after we spread aged horse manure to fertilize and straw for mulch. Our seedlings are growing inside the greenhouse, though our tomato plants did not germinate well, so I planted more. Spring weather is like a see-saw, one week it's warm and sunny, this week is cold again. But that's the beauty of Canadian weather, we just have to be prepared.

Celebrating Earth Day .canada in Port Rowan on Apr 22 (Wednesday) starting at 1 pm. We'll be selling our organic free-range duck eggs, garlic scape relish, framed photos of our farm, Mother's Day and Birthday greeting cards, and an environmental Snakes and Ladders game created by farmer Socorro.
The event starts at 1 pm, check out Birds Canada for more details. There will be a special speaker, a birding walk, a documentary, and other vendors and information booths. See you there!
