The hidden face of shrinkflation

The cost of what’s in your grocery store cart grows while the products themselves shrink. The contents in some ice cream containers have shrunk to the point of becoming a taxable snack. But this shrinkflation phenomenon is not monitored, nor is there any oversight, despite the impact on your wallet.

“There are no reliable surveys. None,” laments Jordan LeBel, professor of food marketing. CBC Canada
