NYE with Slow Sunday: Sweet, Savoury & Sparkling ✨🥂🍾

Pear Jerk Shrimp Canapés: 🍐🍤

Ingredients (serves 6–8):
• 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled & deveined
• 2–3 tbsp Slow Sunday Foods Pear Jerk Sauce (plus more to top with)
• 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
• Salt & pepper
• Crackers, crostini, or cucumber rounds
• Optional: whipped feta, cream cheese/ricotta, fresh herbs, citrus zest, capers

How:
Season shrimp lightly. Steam, boil or sear in oil over med-high heat. Toss with Pear Jerk Sauce for 30–60 sec until glazed. Spoon onto crackers (cut shrimp in half for smaller crackers) with or without a creamy base), finish with herbs or citrus, more sauce, capers

English Plum Sparkling Spritz: 🥂

Ingredients (1 drink):
• 4 oz prosecco or champagne
• 1–1½ oz Slow Sunday English Plum Sauce
• Optional splash soda water
• Garnish: lemon peel, rosemary, frozen grapes, berries

How:
Add English Plum Sauce to a flute, slowly top with champagne. Add a splash of soda if using, gently stir, garnish.

Merry Christmas Eve and Happy Holidays to all who celebrate! Today we have our Slow Sunday’s Smoky Holiday Smash using our Cherry BBQ sauce! 🍒🍸✨

Serves: 1 (just double up on everything for 2)

Ingredients
    •    2 oz whiskey
    •    ¾ oz fresh lemon juice
    •   1 oz Slow Sunday Cherry BBQ sauce
    •    6–8 fresh mint leaves
    •    Splash of cranberry ginger ale
    •    2 dashes chocolate bitters
    •    Ice
• Optional Garnish: fresh rosemary, mint, lemon, pomegranates 



Instructions
    1.    Muddle mint gently with the Cherry BBQ sauce in a shaker
    2.    Add lemon juice, whiskey, and ice
    3.    Shake 10–12 seconds
    4.    Strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice
    5.    Top with a splash of cranberry ginger ale
    6.    Finish with chocolate bitters and garnish if you like

Slow Sunday’s Cozy Spiced Turkey Bake with Apple Cilantro Sauce! 🍎🍝

Serves: 4–6
Bake temp: 375°
Spice Level 3.5/5 (for a mild, non-spicy version, sub Apple Cilantro for Pear Jerk)

Ingredients

    •    1 lb (454 g) ground turkey (ground chicken or beef also work well$
    •    8 oz (225 g) dry short pasta
(penne, rotini, shells, OR spaghetti broken in half)
    •    3 cups coleslaw mix (green cabbage + carrot)
    •    1 cup chopped kale or spinach 
• Optional: sliced green onions or parsley ton finish
    •    ⅓ cup Slow Sunday Spicy Apple Cilantro sauce (sub with Slow Sunday Pear Jerk for a mild, non spicy version)
    •    1 cup chicken broth (plus more if too dry)
    •    1 tsp garlic powder
    •    1 tsp onion powder
    •    1 tsp paprika
    •    1 tsp Italian seasoning
    •    Salt & black pepper, to taste
    •    1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
• Optional - pomegranate seeds for a pop of colour when garnishing 



Instructions
    1.    Cook pasta in salted water until just al dente. Drain and set aside.
    2.    In a large pan over medium heat, cook ground chicken until fully cooked (optional: use an oven safe pan/cast iron so you can throw straight in oven. Season with garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
    3.    Stir in the Spicy Apple Cilantro sauce and chicken broth. Simmer 2–3 minutes until glossy and slightly thickened.
    4.  Add the coleslaw mix and kale and cook 1–2 minutes only, just until slightly softened but still fresh.
    5.  Add cooked pasta and toss everything together. If it looks dry, add a splash more broth.
    6.  Transfer to a baking dish if you didn’t use an oven safe pan. Top with cheese and bake uncovered for 15–20 minutes, until bubbly and lightly golden.
    7.    Rest 5 minutes. Garnish with green onions or parsley and pomegranates.

Slow Sunday’s Festive Plum Chicken with Winter Greens! 🌲✨

Serves 3–4

Ingredients

Festive English Plum Chicken Thighs 
• 1.5  boneless, skinless chicken thighs
• 3-4 tbsp Slow Sunday English Plum sauce (or more to your liking!)
• 1 tbsp olive oil
• 1 tsp garlic powder
• ½ tsp salt
• ½ tsp black pepper
• Optional: pinch chilli flakes or paprika (for gentle heat) 

Instructions
Cook the Chicken
• Preheat oven to 400°F or heat BBQ/grill to medium-high.
• In a bowl, toss chicken thighs with English Plum sauce, olive oil, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and optional chilli flakes
• Optional: Sear in a pan first if you want a nice char (approx. 2 mins each side). Finish in oven for 15 minutes, flipping once, until cooked through and lightly caramelized.
• While chicken is cooking prep your salad.

Winter Greens with English Plum Vinaigrette

Ingredients
• 3 cups chopped kale (stems removed)
• 1 cup thinly sliced cucumber
• ¼ cup flat-leaf parsley, finely chopped (plus more for garnish) 
• 2–3 tbsp fresh mint, thinly sliced
• 2–3 tbsp thinly sliced red onion
• Optional: pomegranate seeds 
• English Plum Vinaigrette:
• 2 tbsp olive oil
• 1½ tbsp Slow Sunday English Plum sauce
• 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
• Pinch salt
• Instructions
• Add kale to a large bowl with a pinch of salt and the citrus juice.
• Massage kale for 30–60 seconds until tender and deep green.
• Whisk olive oil, English Plum sauce, and salt until smooth.
• Toss kale with vinaigrette.
• Gently fold in cucumber, parsley, mint, and red onion just before serving.

‘Tis the season for holiday recipes! 🎁🎄✨
Enjoy your Slow Sunday Sauces on a charcuterie board this holiday season!

Serves 4–6 / Prep Time: 15 minutes
Ingredients (Suggestions):
Cheeses:
• A soft cheese (Brie or Camembert)

• A creamy blue or gorgonzola

• A sharp or aged cheese (Cheddar, Manchego, Gruyère)

Meats:
• Prosciutto or serrano

• Salami or spicy soppressata

• Smoked turkey or cured beef slices

Fruits & Extras:
• Orange slices

• Apples, grapes, pears, berries

• Olives

• Crackers, baguette, or pita crisps

• Chips for a fun crunchy element

• Seasonal touches: fresh cranberries, pine greens

Condiments:
• ANY/ALL of Slow Sunday’s Sauces! I used our Apricot Dijon, Cheriyaki, Chipotle Cherry BBQ, Orchard Cayenne and Peach Habanero. Play around with which cheeses pair best with each sauce!

• Fig jam or other preserves

Assembly:
1 Place your cheeses on the board first, spacing them apart. Cut a few slices into each to make them inviting.

2 Layer in meats by folding or loosely curling them for height and texture.

3 Add fruit slices, olives, and any pickled items to bring freshness and balance.

4 Fill the remaining space with crackers, chips, and bread.

5 Add Slow Sunday sauces in small ramekins for dipping (or drizzle right onto the board!)

6 Garnish with pine sprigs and cranberries for a festive holiday look.

7 Serve with a glass of red wine or a nice holiday mocktail!
