Rural Roots Family Farm We are a small family farm raising beef cattle, and laying hens. Our animals are bred and raised on our farm, allowing us to care for them individually.

I hope you choose to try our meat and see what difference passion makes. My husband Mike and I both grew up on family farms and we want to raise our two children on our family farm. We will provide our customers with food that is grown locally, sustainably, ethically, and without the use of antibiotics or hormones. We want give our consumers a clear view of how their food is humanly raised and the opportunity to learn about traditional farming practices. We farm because we enjoy it.

Integrated pest control specialists a.k.a. Firecracker and Meowers. They do their best to keep on top of pests and keep themselves clean! They kindly left me a medium sized rat on the patio, yesterday, showing off their skils.

In the spring we weaned the 2025 calves off farm, in the fall they come back. I've let them out on the other pasture this AM. It took the new 2026 babies a bit to figure out how to get to the herd, but they are together again.

This is a post I don't enjoy sharing... but here we are. Sadly the beautiful Harley Quinn had a second calf, after I welcomed her heifer. A perfect bull calf was born but didn't survive, and I'm not sure why. Harley also retained her placenta for several days after the delivery, I've been keeping a especially close eye on her and she is doing well eating, drinking, no fever, and getting some grain to supplement her during her recovery. It's taken me awhile to share because the balance between working off farm and farming is already tough, I hate that this happened. I feel guilty, sad, angry, and so much remorse. A fellow farmer and friend offered the condolence of farming is hard on the heart. That it is!
