We were lucky enough to wake up at 2:00 a.m. and realize the temperature was already only +2°C. We covered a few crops in the middle of the night and we’re glad we did, because the temperature kept dropping after that.

Frost is simply part of farming in the Yukon. Where we are, it’s not unusual to have frost in every month of the year. It’s one of the many challenges that comes with growing food here.

Some crops love the cold and taste better with frost, like our carrots. Other are fragile and get damaged if the temps hit 0, like potatoes. Even with a cover they got some small damage. But now the sun is shinning!
