๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ Calma from svanekebryghus ๐Ÿ‘‰ Style: Italian Pilsner ๐Ÿ‘‰ ABV 4.6% ๐Ÿ‘‰ Rating: 3/5 ๐Ÿ‘‰ Bought at Kvickly

A solid and refreshing Italian Pilsner that actually surprised me a bit ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿป Crisp, light-bodied and nicely hopped with a clean bitterness lingering in the finish ๐ŸŒพ๐Ÿ‹ The floral and slightly herbal hop profile works really well and gives it that classic โ€œone more sipโ€ drinkability that the style is known for ๐Ÿ˜Š

There is unfortunately a touch of diacetyl creeping in with a slightly oily buttery note, and personally I think we should leave that part to the Czechs ๐Ÿ˜… It takes a little away from the otherwise fresh and modern expression. Still, this is definitely a step in the right direction for Svaneke ๐Ÿ‘ The old slightly sour house character that used to haunt many of their beers seems to be gone, and the new brewmaster clearly has improved a few things ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Great to actually enjoy a Svaneke beer again!

The can art is clean and minimalistic with Mediterranean vibes that fit the Sicilian inspiration perfectly โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡น

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง Punk IPA from brewdogofficial_ ๐Ÿ‘‰ Style: West Coast IPA ๐Ÿ‘‰ ABV 5.4% ๐Ÿ‘‰ Rating: 3/5 ๐Ÿ‘‰ Bought at foetex

This one will always have a special place in my beer journey ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿป Around 12 years ago, Punk IPA completely changed my view on what beer could be. The piney hops, sharp citrus notes, and that bold bitterness absolutely blew my mind back then ๐Ÿ’ฅ๐Ÿ‹๐ŸŒฒ I had never tasted anything like it, and honestlyโ€ฆ this beer was one of the reasons I got into brewing myself.

Today, it doesnโ€™t hit quite the same. The body feels thinner and the hop profile less explosive than it once did, and the brand itself has lost some of the magic over the years. But despite that, thereโ€™s still something nostalgic and comforting about cracking open a Punk IPA ๐Ÿ˜Œ๐Ÿบ

As a classic West Coast-inspired IPA, it still delivers those familiar grapefruit, pine, light caramel malt, and crisp bitter finish notes that made this style famous worldwide. Clean, bitter and easy to drink โ€” even if it no longer feels revolutionary.

The can art is still iconic though ๐Ÿ˜ƒ The bright blue design is instantly recognizable and remains one of the most legendary craft beer labels from the modern beer boom ๐Ÿ’™

Nostalgia rating? 5/5 โค๏ธ
Beer quality today? Around 3/5 ๐Ÿป

๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ Nyborg Kongebryg from orbaek_bryggeri ๐Ÿ‘‰ Style: Pale Ale ๐Ÿ‘‰ ABV 6% ๐Ÿ‘‰ Rating: 3/5 ๐Ÿ‘‰ Bought at Kvickly

A solid and easy-drinking pale ale with a nice balanced bitterness and a touch of citrus from the hops ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‹ Definitely leaning more traditional than modern hop-forward, so donโ€™t expect IPA-level intensity here. The malt base keeps things smooth and drinkable, while the gentle hop bitterness gives it enough character to stay interesting ๐Ÿป

Classic pale ales are all about balance, and this one keeps things clean and approachable with mild citrus notes, light caramel sweetness, and a crisp finish ๐Ÿ˜Ž Itโ€™s a bit of a shame the beer isnโ€™t clearer in the glass, as the presentation feels slightly unpolished, but thankfully the flavor delivers where it matters ๐Ÿ‘

The red and gold label also gives off some old-school royal Danish vibes that fit the โ€œKongebrygโ€ theme quite nicely ๐Ÿ‘‘

๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ Thy ร˜kologisk Ale from thistedbryghus ๐Ÿ‘‰ Style: English Brown Ale ๐Ÿ‘‰ ABV 5.2% ๐Ÿ‘‰ Rating: 3.25/5 ๐Ÿ‘‰ Bought at Kvickly

A classic and easy-drinking brown ale with a smooth caramel sweetness and notes of toasted bread ๐Ÿž๐Ÿฏ The malt profile is soft and rounded, giving it that traditional English ale vibe with a gentle bitterness in the background ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿป

This bottle also had a slightly oxidized sherry-like note, but honestlyโ€ฆ it actually worked pretty well here ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿท Since the beer is around 6 months old, it makes perfect sense โ€” and maybe thatโ€™s just the old beer judge in me talking ๐Ÿ˜‚ It adds a bit of depth and warmth to the caramel and toasted malt character without becoming distracting.

English Brown Ales are all about balance and drinkability rather than hop intensity. They often lean into nutty, biscuity and caramel-like malt flavors with a smooth, comforting finish โ€” and this one definitely delivers that cozy pub-style experience ๐Ÿ˜Ž

The canโ€ฆ or rather bottle art ๐Ÿ˜„โ€ฆ keeps it simple and classic with a clean Nordic design that matches the traditional vibe of the beer nicely ๐Ÿ‘Œ

๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ Great Grandpa from Too Old To Die Young Brewing Co. ๐Ÿ‘‰ Style: Hazy IPA ๐Ÿ‘‰ ABV 5.9% ๐Ÿ‘‰ Rating: 3.25/5 ๐Ÿ‘‰ Bought at Kvickly Frederikssund

This one definitely has the classic hazy IPA look ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿป Hazy golden pour with a fluffy white head and tropical aromas jumping straight out of the glass ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿฅญ The nose promises a juicy ride with mango, orange and sweet citrus notes, and the flavor delivers fairly well too ๐Ÿ˜Š

That said, it also feels like a reminder that the brewery maybe isnโ€™t quite what it used to be. The tropical profile is pleasant and easygoing, but the body lacks that full, creamy โ€œjuice bombโ€ mouthfeel you really want from a great hazy IPA. Thereโ€™s a slightly watery finish that holds it back a bit. Sweet orange and mango dominate throughout with almost no bitterness at all, making it super approachable but also a little one-dimensional ๐Ÿ˜…

Still a solid and drinkable beer for a relaxed evening ๐Ÿป

โ€ฆand the can art is pretty cool too ๐Ÿ˜ƒ The mummy-inspired design with the bold blue and orange contrast really stands out on the shelf ๐Ÿ’€๐Ÿ’ช

๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ Choko Stout from svanekebryghus ๐Ÿ‘‰ Style: Stout ๐Ÿ‘‰ ABV 5.7% ๐Ÿ‘‰ Rating: 3/5 ๐Ÿ‘‰ Bought at Kvickly

I have to admitโ€ฆ I was a bit nervous before opening this one ๐Ÿ˜… For years, many beers from Svaneke had that distinct โ€œSvaneke tasteโ€ โ€“ a slightly sour note that a lot of beer geeks talked about, and it honestly kept me away from the brewery for quite some time. Since they changed brewmaster, I havenโ€™t really revisited their lineupโ€ฆ until now ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

And based on this beer? Yeah, they seem to have cleaned things up ๐Ÿ’ช No obvious off-flavors or brewing faults here โ€“ just a smooth and easy-drinking stout with light roasted notes, mild coffee vibes, and a touch of chocolate ๐Ÿซโ˜• The body is soft and pleasant, making it very approachable for people who enjoy classic sessionable stouts.

That said, itโ€™s also a fairly one-dimensional experience. Nice enough, but lacking the depth, complexity, or creamy richness that really makes a stout memorable. Still, solid ex*****on and definitely a positive surprise compared to what I remembered ๐Ÿป

The can art has a classy and elegant Scandinavian look with the black-and-gold design giving it a clean premium feel ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ‘Œ

๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ Black Magic from Thisted Bryghus ๐Ÿ‘‰ Style: Cascadian Dark Ale ๐Ÿ‘‰ ABV 6% ๐Ÿ‘‰ Rating: 3.75/5 ๐Ÿ‘‰ Bought at Kvickly

Dark as the night, but surprisingly fresh and drinkable ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿป This Cascadian Dark Ale delivers a really nice balance between roasted malts and modern hop character. Rich notes of toasted bread, caramel and light coffee blend beautifully with grassy hops and fresh pine needle aromas ๐ŸŒฒ๐ŸŒฟ

What I really enjoyed here is how smooth and balanced it feels. The roasted bitterness never gets too aggressive, and the hop profile adds freshness without turning overly bitter ๐Ÿ˜Ž A great example of how the style combines dark malt complexity with IPA-inspired hoppiness in a clean and easy-drinking way ๐Ÿ’ช

Also loving the can art vibes here โ€” the purple and red swirling design perfectly matches the โ€œBlack Magicโ€ name and gives the beer a mysterious, almost psychedelic feel ๐Ÿ˜ƒโœจ

๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ‡ธ Motรถrhead No Class from ๐Ÿ‘‰ Style: Alcohol Free Pilsner / Pale Lager ๐Ÿ‘‰ ABV 0.5% ๐Ÿ‘‰ Rating 3.25/5 ๐Ÿ‘‰ Bought at

โ€œBorn To Raise Hellโ€ฆ Without The Alcohol!โ€ Yeah ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿค˜

A really solid alcohol-free pilsner! Crisp, clean and refreshing with a nice light malt profile, gentle bitterness and a proper snappy finish ๐Ÿป๐Ÿ˜Š What I really like here is that it avoids the usual traps of non-alcoholic lagers โ€“ no starchy wort-like sweetness, no strange spice notes and no thin, artificial aftertaste. Just a well-brewed, easy-drinking AF beer that does exactly what it should ๐Ÿ’ช

Alcohol-free pilsners can be tricky to nail, because without alcohol there is nowhere to hide brewing flaws. This one stays clean, balanced and refreshing all the way through. Not mind-blowing, but definitely enjoyable and a beer I would happily drink again if offered ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿป

โ€œPilsner With A Citrus Kick!โ€ Yeahโ€ฆ but maybe too much ๐Ÿ˜…

This one feels more like a shandy than a pilsner to me. The limejuice takes over pretty quickly and comes across a bit too artificial, almost like lime soda or citrus concentrate ๐Ÿ‹โ€๐ŸŸฉ The base beer is hard to find underneath, and I miss that clean, crisp pilsner character with light malt, gentle bitterness and a refreshing dry finish.

A good pilsner should be bright, balanced and easy-drinking, and citrus can work really well when it lifts the beer instead of dominating it. Here the lime becomes the main story, and unfortunately it hides most of the actual beer ๐Ÿป Itโ€™s refreshing enough, but not something I would buy again.

The can art is classic loud To ร˜l style with the bright green label and black chain-link pattern โ€“ simple, sharp and very fitting for a lime-infused beer ๐Ÿ’š

๐Ÿ‡ฉ๐Ÿ‡ฐ Czech Style Lager from anarkistbrewing ๐Ÿ‘‰ Style: Czech Pilsner ๐Ÿ‘‰ ABV 4.7% ๐Ÿ‘‰ Rating 3/5 ๐Ÿ‘‰ Bought at foetex

This style is a go-to beer. Perfect for making the setlist for Sundayโ€™s concert ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿค˜๐ŸŽธ

Czech Pilsner is definitely a go-to style for me! When brewed well it can have so many subtle flavors hiding behind that clean, crisp drinkability ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿป

This one is fineโ€ฆ a little watery, but it has the right crispness and a decent hop profile where herbs and spice meet a subtle flowery aroma ๐ŸŒฟ๐ŸŒธ The classic Czech pilsner should bring that beautiful balance between bready/crackery malt, floral Saaz-like hops, firm bitterness and a clean refreshing finish. Here the light crackery malt could be stronger, and I would have loved a bit more bitterness and depth in the flavor.

But I get it! This feels like a beer made for the masses. It is definitely more flavorful than a standard pilsner, but it wonโ€™t scare anyone away. Easy drinking, crisp and worth the money for sure ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿป

The can art is simple and classic with a clean, old-school label feel. Nothing wild, but it fits the style pretty well ๐Ÿ‘
