🇩🇰 Ja Tak from Stepping Stone Brewing Co. 👉 Style: New England / Hazy Pale Ale 👉 ABV 5.2% 👉 Rating: 3.75/5 👉 Bought at foetex

“Basically a NEIPA in a lighter pale ale frame?” Yeah, pretty much 😃

This is a lovely modern hazy pale ale with a soft, round and silky mouthfeel. Juicy tropical fruit and citrus lead the way, with grapefruit, pineapple and melon around the edges 🍍🍊 There’s also a light floral and herbal lift, while a subtle grainy-bready malt note keeps everything grounded. The clean, moderate bitterness balances the fruit without ever becoming sharp 😋🍻

Hazy pale ales borrow the cloudiness, pillowy texture and expressive hop character of NEIPAs, but deliver it in a lighter and more easygoing package. Ja Tak hits that sweet spot beautifully: flavorful, polished and dangerously drinkable. This sits several levels above the average supermarket beer and is a clear rebuy at 3.75/5 💪

And the can art gets a big “Ja Tak” from me too 🌸🎨 The bold orange lettering and vivid purple, blue, yellow and orange pansies make it look like a cheerful summer garden wrapped around a can. Fresh, colorful and a perfect match for the beer inside—and the “Danish Brewery of the Year 2024” banner is a confident finishing touch!

The aroma really sets expectations high here 😃🍻 Super inviting and hoppy on the nose, but unfortunately the flavor doesn’t quite follow through. It feels a little thin and muted, almost reminding me of an alcohol-free IPA at times. I was definitely hoping for more punch and character after that great aroma.

That said, for the price, this is still a perfectly fine Session IPA 👍 Session IPAs are all about keeping the fresh, hoppy character of an IPA while lowering the alcohol and body, making them crisp, refreshing and highly drinkable. At just 4.2%, this certainly nails the easy-drinking part, but I would have liked a bit more hop intensity and body to back it up 🍻

When a Danish brewery with a strong reputation for hoppy beers brews one of my absolute favourite styles together with another great brewery, of course I have to try it 😃😜

After pilsners and barrel-aged stouts, Double Modern West Coast IPA is pretty much my perfect beer style. That means expectations were high — maybe too high 😂

A proper Modern West Coast DIPA should be crisp, dry and intensely hop-forward, with assertive bitterness, bright citrus, pine and resin, backed by enough malt to support the alcohol and hops. Unfortunately, Found never really gets there for me. It drinks more like a polished commercial supermarket IPA than a proper hop bomb: not bitter enough, not hoppy enough and not malty enough.

Strangely, the one thing that does stay is the resinous character — and that lingers for slightly too long 😂 For the price, it is probably fair enough and roughly on par with Anarkist on a good day. Still, considering the breweries involved and how much I love this style, it is disappointing. There is simply too little of everything for a Modern West Coast DIPA. Drinkable, but not one I would pay for again 🍻

“A proper sipper!” ❤️🍻

This is exactly what I want from a barrel-aged Barley Wine 😍 While the soft, pleasant warmth from the 13.4% ABV slowly builds, you’re treated to deep layers of sweet plum, raisins, sherry-like richness and smooth caramel ❤️ The barrel aging adds beautifully balanced oak with subtle whisky and port influences, giving the beer extra depth without overpowering the malt character.

Barley Wine is all about rich malt complexity, warming alcohol and a full-bodied mouthfeel, and Harvester’s Reserve delivers on all fronts. Big, bold and incredibly satisfying, yet still surprisingly easy to drink. The combination of dried fruit sweetness, gentle oak and warming spirit character makes every sip feel luxurious.

The label deserves a mention too 😃 The warm burgundy colour and elegant harvest-inspired artwork perfectly match the rich autumnal character of the beer. Simple, classy and very fitting for what’s inside the bottle.

I absolutely love this one! A fantastic sipper for a cold evening and an easy 4.5/5 from me. ❤️🍻

🇩🇰 Veteranøl from Thisted Bryghus 👉 Style: Czech / Bohemian Pilsner 👉 ABV 4.9% 👉 Rating: 2/5 👉 Bought at føtex

“A beer for Danish veterans deserves better.” 😕

As a former soldier, I genuinely wanted to enjoy this one, but diacetyl completely dominates the experience. It is overwhelmingly buttery, and beneath that there is little more than a thin pilsner with very limited malt or hop character 🧈😬

It also feels slightly undercarbonated, which makes the beer seem even flatter and thinner. A Czech-style pilsner should bring bready malt, spicy or herbal hops, lively carbonation and a firm, refreshing bitterness. Here, the bitterness is simply too weak to stand up against the heavy diacetyl, leaving the buttery character in complete control.

The commemorative bottle art has the right intentions, with its nostalgic illustration, military-green details and traditional Danish appearance. Unfortunately, the beer inside does not live up to the meaningful label. At 2/5, this is not something I would pay for again.

“Why skip the hops?” Exactly 😎

This is a fantastic alcohol-free hazy IPA from ÅBEN! Super refreshing and full of flavor with bright tropical notes, summer vibes, citrus, pink pomelo, and a lovely grapefruit bite 🍊🍋💪 For a non-alcoholic IPA, it really delivers that hoppy feeling without becoming thin or watery.

The oats give it a soft and smooth mouthfeel, while the citrusy bitterness keeps it crisp, bright, and seriously thirst-quenching 😃🍻 And with Yops – yeast-derived aroma – in the mix, the hop character gets an extra lift, adding more aroma and making the whole beer feel even more expressive and alive 😋💪

Alcohol-free hoppy beers can sometimes feel a little sweet, empty, or short on body, but this one has real flavor, proper hop expression, and a clean finish. Totally understandable that it won the Danish Championship for Non-Alcoholic Beer and Best in the “Hoppy” category. ÅBEN really nailed this one – and their AF lager is almost just as good! 🍻

The can art is simple but sharp: deep blue with a clean orange “Y” design. Minimalistic, modern, and very ÅBEN – it stands out without shouting 😃

“Sunshine and lime in a glass!” 😎🍋‍🟩

A deliciously crisp and refreshing Mexican lager with a light malt profile, lively carbonation and a clean, dry finish 🍻 The lime is perfectly judged, sitting gently in the background like a fresh wedge dropped into a Corona – only much better 😉 No artificial citrus character and nothing overpowering, just enough lime to lift the beer and make it dangerously easy to drink.

Mexican lagers are all about freshness, simplicity and drinkability, and Bingo Gr**go hits that target nicely. Despite being unfiltered, it still feels bright, clean and wonderfully refreshing 😃💪

The can art is impossible to miss: bright sunshine-yellow colours, bold red-and-green geometric patterns and a playful retro western character in a sombrero. It is loud, colourful and perfectly matched to the spontaneous beach-party mood of the beer 🌞

Once again, Svaneke’s quality seems to have taken a noticeable step forward with the new brewmaster. A very solid lager that I would happily buy again when I need something uncomplicated and refreshing 🍻

West Coast Pilsner sounds like a fun hybrid — that crisp, clean pilsner base mixed with the bitter, citrusy hop profile you would expect from a West Coast IPA 😃🍻

Mikkeller gets quite a lot right here. The aroma is really nice, fresh and inviting, with bright citrus, grapefruit and a touch of bitter hops 🍋🍊 There’s a crisp and refreshing feel to it, and it definitely has that modern hoppy lager vibe going on.

But for me, it simply needs more pilsner character. I was missing that clean malt backbone, snappy lager finish and proper pilsner drinkability. Instead, it hangs a bit dusty on the teeth, which takes away from the freshness. Still a decent beer, and I would gladly drink it if offered — but probably not one I would buy again myself. 3.25/5 🍻
