Really good high quality food.
Sluggish service
Ridiculous layout of seating.

Why sluggish service?
We ordered 4 items...Hoping to take a photo of the food altogether, but nope.
Each item was brought out just after we took our time eating. We didn't exactly order a lot as well, a donburi, a sushi roll, a nigiri platter and a tamagoyaki which was already premade as seen on the counter.
We was seated at this ridiculous corner table.
At around 6.15 when restaurant was at full capacity, waiting staff could not reach our table meaning they were passing the food over the table behind us. The woman who was sat on the table behind us was a table of three and two of them was back to back to us. She moved seats so staff could access us better... Which they still had to reach over
Luckily we didn't order any soup, soup noodles or anything hot as this would have been hazardous.
We were also trapped in due to three customers taking the seats on the side of the sushi bar meaning fire regulation 2005 are not met.

Overall layout can be improved, with that service would improve as staff can therefore check in on all tables safely and comfortably

Mena Deli and Restaurant Huddersfield

Saw this pop up on social media a few days ago and decided to venture out on a Sunday lunchtime

We knew it was a supermarket with a connecting char grill cafe place.

We arrived to the restaurant area to a very friendly server. We was told Ezme had ran out the day before 😞
He said they were about to make a new batch. I said we would wait...Given the info it could be 45 minutes.

We went ahead and said yes
We ordered a Ezme, mixed grill requesting the lamb skewer to be placed on the side of the plate as i don't eat lamb. They were more than happy to say *I'll plate it up separately*
And a Mena special

We headed to the supermarket to do a bit of shopping and came back to wait for our food.

Food came out, as i mentioned it's like a cafe, they call your food and you go to the counter to pick it up.
They only have around 16-20 seats.

Mena special was a chicken wrap with like a sour cream sauce, finished off with a char, chips salad and sauces.
Mixed grill came with rice salad nan and sauce with the lamb skewer on a separate plate
Ezme, love love love, for me the best one ive had...It was a chunky version over a smooth version

Mixed grill was cooked very well and moist. The staff even plated a sample of the lamb sawarma for my partner to try... On this occasion he didn't like it due to being too gamey. But it was generously seasoned.
Mena special, looking at it , it looks like a standard chicken sawarma wrap... But that white sour cream sauce changed the flavour completely. It tasted familiar to anyone who is Chinese and grew up eating home cooked Chinese food.
Can't quite put my finger on the exact Chinese flavour but it's in a very good way

Service was fantastic which is a bonus...As I love good service and what tops it up...Cheap eats!!!

Taking in to account food service and price 10/10 would be happy to come here again and again
