Our master distillery has been fermenting something else over the last few weeks, come and hear him live on the organ of Hereford Cathedral Tuesday 19th 1.15pm.

Lunchtime Organ Recital - Shaun Ward
Tuesday 19 May, 1.15 pm

Our soloist next week is Shaun Ward, founder and owner of Ludlow Distillery and former director of music at St Laurence’s Church, Ludlow. Shaun is a frequent recitalist in our Tuesday lunchtime series but last year generously agreed to stand down to allow important repair work to take place on the Willis organ.

His programme is still in the process of final distillation, but will include music by J.S. Bach, Sweelinck, and others.

Admission is free with a retiring collection. All are welcome!

If you walk past a gorse bush in full bloom you will notice the air suddenly has a tinge of Piña Colada to it. Fresh coconut and vanilla are the two main flavour profiles and they bring a beautiful rounded balance to our No.1 Classic Ludlow Dry Gin. The problem with gorse is that it is a literal pain to pick! English Whisky Week is here.

Did you know there are now more independent English whisky distilleries than independent Scottish whisky distilleries?

It’s about time you did.

English whisky is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the spirits world, and here at Ludlow Distillery we’ve been making whisky for over a decade now — and we’re rather good at it.

Producing around ten casks of single malt whisky each year, we are a mere drop in the ocean of global whisky production — but an exceptionally tasty one. Our whisky is distilled by smell and taste on a 200L wood-fired still, because the best way to ensure it tastes good coming out of the cask is to make sure it tastes good going in.

Every one of our single malts is released as a single cask edition. We never blend casks together, which means each whisky retains its own individuality as well as its excellence.

Just in time for Burns night, our team have been busy all week producing wash and new make whisky to join their brothers in our bonded warehouse when in three years time on Burns night itself they will mature into the delicious nectar that is single malty whisky!

Aged in ex-speyside casks and using 1/3 Scottish peated malt in every batch, there is a little bit of Scotland in every bottle of Ludlow Single Mqlt (and a little more in our Islay Peated Cask edition.
