Fresh veg daily is very important for the small furries of Piddly Poultry. Keeps them in tip top condition. Benny is the mini lop, he unfortunately has a skin condition which causes him to lose his fur but regular baths and cream keeps him happy.

Here at Piddly Poultry I pride myself in keeping my small-hold clean and tidy. I want my animals to live a full and happy life in a nice clean and tidy environment. It is hard work but its worth it especially this time of year when everything is in flower and the suns out.

Scaly leg in chickens is a painful condition caused by microscopic Knemidocoptes mutans mites burrowing under leg scales, feeding on tissue, and causing raised, crusty, and thickened scales. It is contagious, primarily affecting older chickens.
Treatment is soaking feet in epsom salts to soften the skin then applying mite cream or spray. You made need to repeat the process in 2 weeks. Disinfect housing and use a mite powder in the bedding.
It will take a while for feet to start looking normal again.
Pic of one of my Seramas having her feet soaked. First time Ive had to deal with anything like this, there is always more to learn when it comes to chickens πŸ“
