Part 3: the cooking!
We went to Romsey Show on Saturday and bought these giant, yummy tomatoes. So we did chopping rather than cooking and sliced them to eat with mozzarella, basil and Tom even tried an olive (he definitely didn't like them, even said "nah, still don't like em" 🤣) and sour dough bread. We also used one of Tom's birthday presents (a baking kit from Tom's neighbour, Pam - thank you!). Our Rainbow dog was a little concerned as the cake was called Rainbow Cake 🤭 and it was ace! Weird strangers even walked in off the street to sample it 😜

Today it was a classic (for us), but one we haven't done for ages: Bouttell Bolognese. Although James and Tom mostly cooked today, so we've renamed it Burilliams Bolognese just for today! Pudding was a deconstructed banoffee 'pie', using paratha (Indian flatbread) with caramel sauce, fresh banana (a big challenge for Tom as he just can't touch them....until they're a bit mashed and going in his belly), chocolate ice cream and mini razzle sprinkles 🥳 Tom also had his first ever experience of the nail salon and helped me pick the colour.....I nearly convinced him to get his done 🤭

We were supposed to be going to Ikea, but there had been a really bad accident and all the local roads had been shut.......

We were supposed to be going to Ikea, but there had been a really bad accident and all the local roads had been shut.....so we went to Harvester as its just down the road! We had such lovely service, treated Tom like a celebrity - I had one rule to going out for dinner and that was that Tom wasn't allowed to pick his normal burger & chips as that doesn't work with the ethos of Tom Wednesday and trying new things. He gave me permission to choose for him and we worked through the decision making process like a dog show match until we had a winner of the chicken stack, also highly recommended by our awesome server. Thanks Harvester for being fun, tasty and inclusive!
