A month in France flew and confirmed the following: the Atlantic coast is still my favorite part of the country, they kick ass at cheese, bubbles and pastries.

Crossing the country in the middle of August felt like driving through the desert though, which made us worry even more about the future for this part of Europe. Will we all move north during summer to escape the heat?

Immersive, holistic, wild.
A day with is a dive in the past and the future at the same time.

We foraged our meal in the beautiful Valle Varaita and got to hear Paolo’s story and how from Michelin star kitchens he ended up in the mountains cooking only for very few lucky adventurers.

It’s always a privilege to visit Aldo Conterno: the absolute passion for wine shines through every piece of this estate. The new releases are stunning and the Gran Bussia 2016 left me speechless.

Bringing Noah to work 🍇👶

Noah’s first winery visit was in Barbaresco: we went to see Milva and Renato Fenocchio, one of the very first producers from the area we featured in our Wine Club selection back in 2018. They met us when we were just starting, fresh from California with big dreams and lots of ideas.

Nothing has really changed, we’re just a little older and definitely more responsible now. Renato and Milva still make outstanding wine, giving so much love to their vineyards. We did not plan for this visit to be Noah’s first but it completely worked out: healthy vines, a gorgeous spring day and a happy baby running around.

Yes, he’s running at 11 months old.
