​So lucky to have this little gem in our hometown! Tucked away just a few minutes' drive from the seafront, this lovely cafe serves up fantastic continental and Turkish food. Just look at these breakfasts!

- ​Mediterranean Style Pancake Breakfast: Soft, fluffy pancakes served with salty grilled sujuk, halloumi, feta, a fried egg, fresh fruits, baked beans, and syrup.

-​ Granola Bowl: Packed a real punch and it’s bloody massive—loaded with fresh yogurt and lovely fruits.

- ​Turkish Menemen: A absolute delight and our first time trying it (will definitely be making this at home!). Lovely scrambled eggs, peppers, tomatoes, fresh herbs, and thick tiger toast.

​Washed down with an iced latte—because why not? ☕️

📌 Hotel Ocean - Great Yarmouth
Today we had a lovely little lunch at The Box Tree Bistro which is just on the sea front of Great Yarmouth.

Their summer menu is all locally sourced and fresh produce, which is lovely, they do these amazing flat breads, one had a zesty chutney and chargrilled steak🥩, one with yogurt and chicken breasts,🍗, these big old prawns and perfectly grilled Halloumi. The flatbreads are under £14 each which is brilliant value.

Can't beat fresh well cooked food, a good view overlooking the Great Yarmouth sea front and a nice bottle of wine as well 🍷this place has lovely service so well worth checking out if you are in the area.

The Kick Your Eggs Need 🍳🔥

How do you like your eggs in the morning? I like mine with a serious kick.

We leveled up these poached eggs with two different hits from Original G Sauce, and the flavor split is wild:

Verde Vibes🌿: Packed with fresh jalapeño, tangy lime, cilantro, and ginger for a bright, zesty punch.

Mangoes Mental🥭: A lethal combo of sweet mango and scotch bonnet peppers for that sweet, creeping heat.

Finished the whole plate with sea salt, cracked black pepper, dried herbs, and a massive handful of crispy onions for that essential crunch.

From 75% ABV Navy Strength Gin that goes down remarkably smooth, to fresh Brazilian Salgados pastries served piping hot, the local independent food scene in Norfolk is unmatched right now. 💎🔥

What we tasted/ate/brought:
🍸 : 75% ABV Navy Strength Gin (lethal but incredibly smooth with tonic).
🥪 .streetfood : Massive loaded focaccia sandwich packed with layers.
🇧🇷 : Freshly baked Empadas, plus Ham & Cheese and Tuna pastries.
🥒 .lucys_ : Cool Cucumber & Watermelon Crush electrolyte elixirs (£6 each—raw honey, Celtic salt, and coconut water).
🌶️ : Stocked up on Smokehouse Scorcher, Verde Vibes, Mangoes Mental, and the Golden Ghost hot chili syrup.

Massive shoutout to and for hosting a proper showcase for local independent creators. 🙌⛺

When the sun’s hitting the garden like this, cooking is officially cancelled.

We raided and built the ultimate elite-tier plate by doubling down on their 3 for £8 deals:
The Salad Deal (3 for £8): Fruity Moroccan couscous, beetroot & cabbage slaw, and a crunchy apple, celery & walnut salad.

The Deli Deal (3 for £8): Chorizo & cheddar rolitos paired with a classic cheese & olive mix.
The Finisher: A fresh, crusty baguette with a proper thick layer of butter.

Zero effort, maximum reward. ☀️

Our week away near Skegness means eating and drinking our way through the Lincolnshire coast. 🎡 here—these are the absolute standout spots from the trip, including a massive rump steak and chips for under a tenner. 🥩 And a few other snaps of our time away in this beautiful part of the country.

Escaping the kitchen today.

The Broil King rotisserie is doing the heavy lifting out here, locking in the juices with that dedicated rear burner while the house stays cool. Stuffed the skin with lemon and garlic, then hit it heavy with Norfolk Smoke Pits' Bird Baste rub.

No oven, no sweat, just perfectly juicy chicken. 🍗
