Waanzinnig toch, 183 jaar oude wijnstokken 😍
Exciting news from Langmeil Winery — we've been shortlisted in The Old Vine Conference Competition 2026 , in the 'Landscape & Plants' category.
The shortlisted image features our Barossa Ancestor vine — the Freedom 1843 Shiraz, photographed by Dragan Fine Art Photography. Planted in 1843, these vines are 183 years old and still producing fruit today, making them what we believe to be the world's oldest surviving Shiraz vineyard.
Nearly 300 entries were received from 18 countries across four continents, making this shortlisting a proud moment for the Langmeil team and for the Barossa.
Public voting is now open until 8 July, with winners announced on Old Vine Day: 15 July 2026. We'd love your support — head to the link below to cast your vote and read more about the competition.
