You all know the drill by now — this Saturday our monthly Barrel Tasting is back.

This month, we're exploring three expressions of Alsace Riesling. 🍇🥂

• Metz Anne Laure Riesling
• Turckheim Riesling 2023
• Bott-Geyl Riesling Éléments 2023

From crisp citrus and white blossom to mineral depth and vibrant acidity, each wine tells a different story of terroir and vintage — a reminder of why Riesling remains one of the world's most captivating grape varieties.

We'll be pouring all day, free of charge. Stop by for a taste, stay for a chat, and discover your favourite expression of Alsace Riesling.

Ever wondered what eau de vie actually is? 🌿

It's one of those spirits that sounds intimidating but is actually beautifully simple. Pure fruit — fermented, then distilled. Nothing added. The result is a clear, intensely aromatic brandy that tastes exactly like the fruit it came from, only more so. Kirsch of ripe cherry. Mirabelle of golden plum. Poire Williams of fragrant, sun-warmed pear.

The tradition goes back to 14th century Alsace, where monks first distilled fruit for its medicinal properties. Today the Villé Valley — the heart of Alsatian distillation — is home to the highest concentration of fruit distilleries in France.

The Massenez family started distilling in Alsace in the 1870s. Credited for being the first to distill wild raspberries, the distillery became famous for capturing the essence of fruit in its purest form. The distillation method is still a closely-guarded family secret.

Enjoy it as a digestif, use it to elevate a cocktail, or add it to your desserts

A week in Alsace 🍷
Six producers. Six expressions of a region that defies easy definition, French in spirit, Alsatian in soul, a mosaic of cultures compressed into sixty miles of vine. From Bott-Geyl’s Gewurztraminer to the legendary Trimbach Riesling, this is your passport to Alsace. One Riesling is never enough. The Turckheim Pinot Blanc? What Alsatians pour on a Tuesday night and the hardest bottle in this pack to put down.

One region. Seven grapes. Infinite styles. Alsace doesn't do boring. Dry, off-dry, late harvest, vendanges tardives. From crisp and dry to lusciously sweet — all grown on some of the most geologically diverse soils in France.
