Across several French wine regions, the 2026 vendanges are getting underway ahead of the traditional calendar.

The growing cycle was already well advanced this year, followed by periods of warm and dry weather. Now, growers and winemakers are closely monitoring grape maturity to find the right moment to pick.

The wines may still be a little way from our glasses, but their story has already begun.

At its heart is ChΓ’teauneuf-du-Pape, the Southern RhΓ΄ne’s most celebrated appellation, known for Grenache-led blends that bring together generous Mediterranean fruit, spice, herbs and savoury complexity.

But beyond ChΓ’teauneuf-du-Pape lies a French wine region shaped by Mediterranean sun, the Mistral and remarkably diverse soils β€” producing Southern RhΓ΄ne wines with generosity, structure and unmistakable character.
