Meet our Lower North Island Sales Rep, Ben Robertson ๐จโ๐ผ๐ผ
Two and a half years into his journey with Markwell Foods, Ben is a familiar face to customers across the Lower North Island. Backed by more than 20 years in the supermarket industry, he enjoys building relationships with customers, understanding what works for their stores and putting his experience to good use along the way.

Two and a half years now! Itโs been great getting to know our customers across the Lower North Island and bringing my supermarket experience into the role.

A blend of sales, problem solving, and the occasional game of Tetris when it comes to finding space for new products! Itโs all about spotting opportunities and finding solutions that work for each store.

Every day is a little different. I could be introducing new products to the market, negotiating promotional plans, or looking for new or missed opportunities with customers.

The people. I get to work with an amazing group of people, which makes coming to work and doing what we do all the more enjoyable.

After more than 20 years in the supermarket industry, Iโve had the opportunity to work with people from all different walks of life. Itโs taught me that everyone is unique, and taking the time to understand that is important when finding the right solution for each individual store.

The quality of our products. Itโs something we really pride ourselves on and something that makes a difference when working with our customers.

I do my own research and combine that with the knowledge and feedback I get from our customers. It gives me a good understanding of whatโs happening in the market and helps me find suitable solutions for each store.

I enjoy spending time with family and friends and keeping active through exercise and martial arts. When itโs time to relax, youโll usually find me fitting in a bit of PlayStation too.

Iโd have dinner with Albert Einstein. I imagine thereโd be plenty of interesting conversation! Iโd start with our Spring Rolls, Samosas and Asian Party Mix to share, followed by a platter of Salt & Pepper, Lemon Pepper and Cajun Popcorn Squid, with Panko Crumbed Scallop Bites on the side.
