🥃 LAPHROAIG 25 YEAR OLD — SYMINGTON’S CHOICE 🥃
Some whiskies need very little introduction.

Distilled in 2000 and bottled in 2025 after 25 years of maturation, this exceptional Laphroaig comes from a single ex-Oloroso sherry butt, Cask #4078, and has been bottled at a natural strength of 54.5% by Signatory Vintage as part of the prestigious Symington’s Choice collection.

The Symington’s Choice range brings together some of Andrew Symington’s favourite casks from the Signatory Vintage warehouses — individual casks selected for their character, quality and ability to stand apart.

And a 25 Year Old Laphroaig in Oloroso sherry is certainly not something you see every day.

Expect that unmistakable mature Islay character: earthy peat smoke, autumn leaves and bonfire ash, wrapped around richer notes of resin, dried fruit and candied citrus peel.

The Oloroso influence adds depth and richness without burying the distillery underneath it. The result is mature, smoky, complex and beautifully layered — unmistakably Laphroaig, just with 25 years of patience behind it.

🥃 YELLOWSTONE BOURBON — MORE THAN 150 YEARS IN THE MAKING
There aren’t many bourbon names with a story stretching all the way back to 1872.

Yellowstone Bourbon was created that year in honour of Yellowstone National Park, established as America’s first national park. Over the decades, the brand became deeply woven into Kentucky bourbon history — surviving Prohibition, rising to become one of Kentucky’s best-selling bourbons in the 1960s, and eventually finding a new home at Limestone Branch Distillery under Master Distiller Stephen Beam.

And yes, the Beam name carries some serious wh***ey history.

Stephen comes from a long distilling lineage stretching back generations, and today he remains closely involved in the Yellowstone range.

We’ve just received a particularly special release:

🥃 YELLOWSTONE RECOLLECTION SERIES
8 Year Old | 110 Proof / 55% ABV

This one reaches right back into Yellowstone’s earliest history.

In the late 1800s, Yellowstone Bourbon was served from ornate glass decanters embossed with the Yellowstone name and decorated with an image of the park’s famous Lower Falls.

The Recollection Series revives that idea in spectacular fashion.

Inside the heritage-inspired bottle is an 8-year-old bourbon bottled at a full 110 proof, giving it plenty of richness, weight and character to match the presentation.

A bourbon that looks backwards without feeling stuck in the past.

🥃 **Meet Penelope Bourbon**
Some wh***ey brands start with a business plan. Penelope started with a baby.

In 2018, Mike Paladini and his wife Kerry learned they were expecting a daughter, Penelope. To mark the moment, Mike and childhood friend Danny Polise created a bourbon for life’s big occasions, small wins, and everything in between.

The brand now sits on shelves across all 50 US states and beyond. In 2023 it joined the MGP Ingredients family through Luxco, with Mike and Danny still at the helm. Distilled at MGP’s historic Ross & Squibb Distillery in Lawrenceburg, Indiana, then blended — and sometimes finished — into distinct expressions.

A few worth seeking out:

🥃 **Penelope Architect**
Bourbon built around flavour. Made with French cooper Tonnellerie Radoux using OakScan®-selected French oak staves for a precise, designed profile.

🥃 **Penelope Wheated**
Softer and sweeter. Wheat replaces rye for a smooth, rich pour with gentle sweetness and a little spice. 95 proof / 47.5% ABV — present, but easy-drinking.

🥃 **Penelope Rosé Cask Finish**
The unusual one. Straight bourbon finished in French Rosé casks from the Southern Rhône. Bourbon sweetness meets delicate fruit — not your everyday American wh***ey.

🥃 NEW CADENHEAD’S RELEASES HAVE ARRIVED
There are independent bottlers… and then there is Cadenhead’s.

Founded in 1842, Wm Cadenhead’s is Scotland’s oldest independent bottler. Originally based in Aberdeen, the company moved to Campbeltown in 1972 after being acquired by J&A Mitchell & Co. Ltd — the same family company behind Springbank and Glengyle Distilleries.

Their approach to wh**ky has remained refreshingly uncomplicated.

No chill filtration. No added colouring. No unnecessary additives.

The idea is simply to let the wh**ky speak for itself. Every release is selected on quality, bottled in Campbeltown and, in Cadenhead’s own wonderfully straightforward philosophy, if they don’t like it, it doesn’t get bottled.

We’ve just received a selection of new releases, including some particularly interesting drams:

🥃 Highland 40 Year Old
Four decades in cask. That alone deserves a closer look.

🥃 Tormore 14 Year Old
Matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon Barrels & Oloroso Hogsheads.

🥃 Craigellachie 18 Year Old
Matured in Refill Oloroso Hogsheads — a combination that should allow plenty of that wonderfully weighty Craigellachie character to shine through.

And there are more Cadenhead’s releases on the shelf beyond these three.

🥂 CH*****NE PAUL LAUNOIS — ‘Of Chalk and Cold Sun’
There are Ch*****ne houses with long histories, and then there are producers who decide to rewrite the rules.

Paul Launois comes from just 6.5 acres of Grand Cru vineyard in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, one of the most coveted villages in Ch*****ne and home to some of the finest Chardonnay terroir in the Côte des Blancs.

For generations, the family’s grapes were sold to the local Le Mesnil cooperative. That changed dramatically in 2015 when Julien Launois and his wife Sarah took over the estate, cancelled the cooperative contract and began making Ch*****ne under their own name.

They called the domaine Paul Launois, after their young son.

Their approach is small-scale, precise and distinctly modern, producing handmade Blanc de Blancs Ch*****nes that place the chalk, Chardonnay and individual character of Le Mesnil-sur-Oger firmly at centre stage.

We currently have three cuvées on the shelf:

🥂 Composition No. 7 Extra-Brut
100% Chardonnay | Dosage 2g/L

A beautiful balance between freshness and maturity. Crystal clear, silky and subtly fruity, with the low dosage allowing the Chardonnay and Côte des Blancs terroir to speak for themselves.

🥂 Monochrome No. 7 Extra-Brut
100% Chardonnay | Grand Cru Le Mesnil-sur-Oger | Dosage 1g/L

Perhaps the most direct expression of that famous chalky terroir. Lime blossom, lemon tart and grapefruit meet hints of toast and almond, followed by a tightly wound, saline and beautifully dry finish.

Only 9,000 bottles were produced.

🥂 Illustration No. 5 Brut Nature
100% Chardonnay | Dosage 0g/L

No dosage at all, and a very different expression. Fermentation and maturation in oak bring a wonderfully savoury dimension — woody, toasted and mineral, with the chalk of Le Mesnil combining with barrel maturation to create something quite distinctive.

Three Ch*****nes. Three interpretations of Chardonnay. All built around one of the great terroirs of Ch*****ne.

If you enjoy Ch*****ne with precision, minerality, salinity and genuine character, Paul Launois is a producer well worth discovering.
