Our products are traditionally fermented with salt using the natural yeasts and bacteria. Fermenting foods is a practice as old as humans themselves. Before modern food production every household would practice fermentation as a way of preserving the harvest and keeping food over non-productive winter months. All over the world traditional cultures innately knew how to improve food with the use of

invisible microbes. Science is only just catching up with the innate wisdom of our ancestors. Marea first shared her passion for growing nutrient dense food, making great ferments and nourishing our families to health and wellness, through teaching others. Now you can also buy our GoodBugs online, at local markets or at selected stockists. Goodbugs a name which tells a huge story. Our microbiome contains more bacteria than all of our human cells. A harmonious balance between the different types of bacteria in our microbiome will determine the state of our health. Until recently, the roles of these 'billions of little helpers' that make up our microbiome was a vital, but underrated contributor to human health. Each jar of Goodbugs Zuurkool real sauerkraut is raw (unpasteurised) and alive with these life giving probiotics.

Treat Dad to bacon, eggs & GoodBugs this Father’s Day! 🥓🍳
Creamy avo, crispy bacon, fluffy Zesta Fermented Pesto eggs and a generous helping of Purple Zurkool for that delicious fermented zing. 💚

You’ll need:
🥯 Buns
🥑 Avocado
🧀 Cream cheese
🥓 Bacon
🍳 Eggs
🧈 Butter
🥛 Cream
🧂 Smoked salt
🌿 GoodBugs Zesta Fermented Pesto
💜 GoodBugs Purple Zurkool

The method:

1️⃣ Bake your bacon until crispy, adding the halved buns for the last 5 minutes to lightly toast.

2️⃣ Scramble your eggs with butter, cream and a pinch of salt. Stir through Zesta Fermented Pesto just before the eggs set.

3️⃣ Smash your avo with cream cheese, smoked salt and pepper.

4️⃣ Load up your toasted bun with avo, Purple Zurkool, pesto eggs and crispy bacon.

Now THAT’S a Father’s Day breakfast. 😍

It all started with a book. 📖✨

Nourishing Traditions was a book that completely shaped the way I thought about health, nutrition and food more than 25 years ago.

Fast forward all these years, and I’m incredibly proud to now share that passion with you through GoodBugs.

What started as a personal journey has grown into a love of making delicious, nourishing fermented foods that we can share with our families and our community. ❤️
