Our Tohu Whenua Matua Albariño 2025 has just been recognised at one of the world’s most prestigious and competitive wine awards — and we couldn’t be prouder.

Kaffir lime, orange oil, saline minerality, grapefruit sherbet on the finish. The judges said it better than we could.

On Thursday 25 June, our Chief Winemaker Bruce Taylor is co-hosting a dinner at Hopgoods Restaurant in Nelson — six courses, with our Tohu Single Vineyard wines poured alongside.
 
These are our top-tier wines, from the Whenua Awa vineyard in the Awatere Valley, and it’s a rare chance to taste the range across a full menu with the person who makes them.
 
Six courses, wines included — $195 per person. Seats are limited.

It moves constantly across Whenua Awa in the Upper Awatere, strengthening the vines, slowing the ripening, drawing out the cool restraint and quiet power that defines this wine.
Hand-crafted in small parcels, Matangi Chardonnay showcases the cool elegance of the Southern Awatere. Wild fermentation, extended maturation and meticulous viticulture result in a Chardonnay of texture, depth and quietly powerful refinement.
