Adobong Manok sa Gata with Jolly Mushrooms
Ingredients:
1 kg chicken (cut into serving pieces)
1 can Jolly Whole Mushrooms (drained)
1 cup Jolly Coconut Milk (gata)
¼ cup soy sauce
¼ cup vinegar
5 cloves garlic (minced)
1 onion (sliced)
2–3 bay leaves
1 tsp whole peppercorns
1 tbsp cooking oil
1 tbsp oyster sauce (optional, for extra umami)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp sugar (optional, to balance the flavor)
Instructions:
1. Heat oil in a pan. Gisahin ang garlic at onion hanggang maging fragrant at slightly golden.
2. Add chicken pieces and cook until lightly browned on all sides.
3. Pour in soy sauce, vinegar, bay leaves, and peppercorns.
4. Add a little water (about ½ cup), then cover and simmer for 20–25 minutes until chicken is tender.
5. Add Jolly Whole Mushrooms and Jolly Coconut milk. Mix gently. Simmer on low heat until the sauce thickens and becomes creamy.
6. Add oyster sauce (optional), sugar, and adjust salt/pepper to taste.
