Today I received some Kampong chicken eggs from my lovely neighbour auntie. She said the eggs came all the way from Malaysia and kindly shared some with me to try.

I decided to make a special dish — tomato omelette with squid. The aroma was amazing, and the texture of the Kampong eggs was richer and more tender than regular eggs. This was a new experience for me, as I’ve never tried Kampong eggs before!

For today’s lunch, Asher said he wanted to eat fried chicken — and just the thought of it made him smile! It’s one of his all-time favorites, especially when it’s crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. The delicious aroma and perfectly seasoned flavor always make it extra special.

Tonight’s dinner was delicious and full of variety. We had bitter melon soup stuffed with minced pork, perfect for sipping with its light and soothing broth, gently scented with shiitake mushrooms. The fried egg was crispy on the edges and soft in the center. There were also freshly fried Fish Beancurd Roll that smelled amazing, and tender braised pork that had been slow-cooked until the flavors were fully absorbed. Everything was served with a bowl of hot brown rice—perfectly cooked, soft but still slightly chewy—bringing all the dishes together in harmony. It was a satisfying and well-balanced meal, both nourishing and comforting, truly a heartwarming dinner.

A beautiful morning starts with a comforting plate of Stir-Fried Bee Hoon with Pork Belly. The rice vermicelli is soft and springy, while the pork belly is melt-in-your-mouth tender. Fresh tomatoes add a touch of tang, balanced by the rich aroma of garlic, onions, and dark soy sauce. It’s that nostalgic, old-school flavor we grew up with — simple, hearty, and full of love.
