**Where The Chimney Stack Began 🇭🇺🔥**

Long before **The Chimney Stack** started serving chimney cakes at festivals, we had the opportunity to experience how this treasured tradition is made at home.

Our inspiration came from the Hungarian **Székely tradition of Transylvania**, where kürtőskalács has been made for generations with simple tools, an open fire, and family and friends gathered together.

We were blessed to have **Magdolna Sárközy** show us the process — preparing and rolling the dough by hand, wrapping it around the forms, and slowly turning it over glowing coals until beautifully golden.

Of course, our baking equipment was a little unconventional. 😂

Those forms wrapped in aluminum foil?

We had to **empty the Tall Boys first** before we could wrap them in foil and put them to work! 🍺🔥

It wasn't fancy. And that's part of what made the experience so special.

**Simple tools. Hot coals. Good people. A precious cultural tradition passed from one generation to the next.**

**That experience helped inspire what became The Chimney Stack. Today, every chimney cake we make carries a little piece of that evening — and of the Székely tradition — with it.

Special thank you is in order for the guests who came out to the Saint Steven festival today. Even with the torrential downpour you stayed in line. You folks broke the record twice for the largest single sale, first 12 PCs then WOW 15. Thank you for supporting St Emeric Parish.

🎉 Come see The Chimney Stack at One World Day 2026!

There are 49 established cultural gardens within the Cleveland Cultural Gardens and 11 more are in development. Within each garden are the artists, musicians, poets, philosophers and scientists who are cultural icons of their countries. Chopin, Dante, Gandhi, Copernicus, Tesla, Twain and Mother Teresa are just some of the many historic figures you’ll find in the Cultural Gardens. Feel free to walk or bike “around the world” and learn about each of the cultures represented in the Gardens.

We'll be serving fresh, handcrafted chimney cakes straight off the spit. See you there! 🔥🍰

Thank You Ashtabula!! Aka "the river of many fishes". We met some wonderful folks, got some great input for dripping sauces. We are grateful for the folks that came from far away, West Virginia, Youngstown and more.
