Our first open mic is here, and we’re starting with a love story told from the other side. 🫂

Come, Love: a refrain is an evening of poetry, music, and open mic at Portrait, hosted by W.J. Lofton. The theme is The Love B-Side, a light nod to The Love Below that makes room for the voices the love songs were written to: their answers, their choices, their own stories.

Featuring poetry from Ashlee Haze, Dr. Ra Malika Imhotep, and Ashley Edwards. After that, the floor is yours.

Bring a piece inspired by the B-side or something all your own. Open mic sign ups are at the door, first come, first served, and spots are limited.

Come to listen, come to share, and let us pour you something warm while you’re here. 🤎

Come make something with us. Portrait Coffee and EAT! Magazines & Books are hosting a hands-on zine workshop for creative and curious minds.
We’ll turn recycled paper goods into mini-magazines called zines. No experience needed, just bring yourself and an openness to experiment. It’s a relaxed afternoon to flex your creative muscles, meet new people, and enjoy a cup of coffee on us.
