Tuesday Tips: Toscano Syrah Pairings 🍷🧀

This week in our Town Lake XL board pairing series, we’re talking about one of our favorite sleeper hits: creamy Toscano soaked in Syrah.

It’s rich, full-bodied, slightly nutty, and has that beautiful w**e-soaked depth that makes it feel a little more elevated than your everyday cheese.

On our XL boards, we love pairing it with bold, sweet, and savory accents that can actually stand up to the flavor.

Our favorite pairings:

🍷 Toscano Syrah + cherry spread
🥨 Toscano Syrah + dark chocolate pretzels
🌰 Toscano Syrah + nuts
🍷 Toscano Syrah + Syrah, red blends, or full-bodied red w**e
🧂 Toscano Syrah + plain salted crackers

The key is choosing pairings that complement the cheese without competing with it. A simple cracker lets the Toscano shine, while cherry spread or dark chocolate brings out the richer, fruitier notes.

1.5K followers. A very full calendar.

Social media is an important part of our business. It helps people see that we’re active, current, creating, and actually out here doing the work.

But Instagram is only the part you can see.

A lot of the growth that has helped us become trusted for corporate events, weddings, private celebrations, and Austin gatherings has happened well outside this app.

It’s relationships. Reputation. Search visibility. Showing up in the community. Knowing our niche. Following through. Remembering what clients loved the first time. And doing good enough work that people come back, refer us, or put our name in a room we weren’t even in.

Could we probably grow faster on social if we posted 24/7? Sure.

But there are also proposals to write, clients to call, events to execute, relationships to build, and a business to actually run.

So yes, we’re working on the follower count too.

We’re just a little busy building the company behind it.

Tuesday Tips: Double Cream Brie Pairings 🧀🍯

This week in our Town Lake XL board pairing series, we’re talking about the star of the show: double cream brie.

Brie is always a crowd pleaser for a reason. It’s creamy, buttery, spreadable, and pairs beautifully with both sweet and savory elements.

On our XL boards, we love dressing it up with figs, berries, and honey. The tartness of the berries cuts through the richness of the brie, the figs add soft sweetness, and a drizzle of honey brings everything together.

Our favorite pairings:

🍓 Brie + berries + honey
🍯 Brie + figs + honey
🥖 Brie + baguette, flatbread, or a plain salted cracker
🌶️ Brie + salami + honey on a cracker for a savory bite

The key is keeping the cracker simple so the brie and all those layered flavor notes stay the star of the show.

I’ve been teasing this one on stories for a while, and after a summer of hiring, working interviews, trial periods, trial and error, and searching very high and very low… the team is finally here.

And more importantly: it’s the right team.

The Board Bae has a very specific workflow. We move fast, we care a lot about the details, our events are highly styled, and more and more of our clients are asking for something beyond a beautiful graze - they want knowledgeable people onsite who can talk through the cheeses, guide pairings, interact with guests, and help make the food part of the experience.

So we built for that.

We’re also very clear about what we are - and what we’re not.

We don’t try to be the florist, the planner, the baker, the rental company, and the caterer all at once. We have an incredible network of vendor partners we trust for all of those pieces.

Our lane is custom, bespoke grazing experiences.

Big tables. Beautiful boards. Thoughtful pairings. Interactive food experiences. The kind of spreads people walk into a room and immediately gravitate toward.

It’s a pretty specific niche - and we’ve built a team that allows us to do it at an extremely high level.

So heading into fall, we’re not trying to do everything.

We’re ready to do our thing - really, really well.
