MEET ME MONDAY!
My name is Nicki. I live in the suburbs of Austin, TX with my wife and kids. I have always been an artist, can draw, learned basic sculpting skills early in life, and have a graphic design degree. I have NOT always been a baker.
I've always had fond memories of my mom making our cakes growing up, and constantly watched cake tutorials and videos just for fun. I would dabble in decorating a cake here and there. One day I decided to teach myself the proper way to bake and level cakes. Everything took off from there.
Designed Delights was born in January of 2024. What started as something I wanted to do artistically, had turned into something much bigger and amazing than I could've imagined. My original idea was to just post a picture of a cake every week and try out new techniques. It didn't take long for people to start reaching out for cakes, and I fell in love with becoming a cake artist.
I believe that this is my path, but I had to be ready for it. There's hurdles I've had to overcome first. Learning to love myself and forgive myself has been a part of my journey. I am completely sober and continue to work on myself. I'm more loving and capable and deserving of this life than I ever realized before and I'm in love with life!
Outside of cake art I'm a spiritual butterfly, and I'm very connected with nature, energies and spirit. I'm a runner and find it therapeutic and a way to release. I'm an empath and can sometimes be overwhelmed by too much energy or people at one time, but when in the right headspace, I love hosting and connecting with people. I love feeling seen and complimented, but I try to pay it forward as much as possible and help others "feel seen". It's important to me to remember that we are all one and that we should reciprocate kind gestures, care about others, and be genuinely helpful.
It's important for me to share, but I always ask others to share back. I love getting to know people that follow me and/or are in the cake community. I will never judge, and I will always be a safe place to ask for help, share your work, and have a conversation. As always, thanks for being here! π«Άπ»β₯οΈ
