🔋⚠️ If your device's battery is trying to tell you something, listen.

Stop using your device immediately if the battery:

⚠️ Smells strange
⚠️ Feels unusually hot
⚠️ Makes popping or hissing noises
⚠️ Changes shape or color
⚠️ Produces smoke

If it is safe to do so, move the device away from anything that can catch fire. Damaged batteries can overheat and may start a fire.

❤️ Member-owned. Community-focused. For 90 years.

At Bartlett Electric Cooperative, our members have always been at the heart of what we do. As a cooperative, we’re owned by the people we serve and locally governed with our members and communities in mind.

As we celebrate National Co-op Month and 90 years of service, we’re grateful for the generations of members who have helped shape BEC along the way.

And one of our favorite member traditions is just around the corner! ⚡

Join us for the 90th Annual Meeting on October 19 as we bring members together to celebrate our history, hear what’s happening at your cooperative and look ahead to what’s next.

🔋⚠️ Charge smart. Stay safe.

This Fire Prevention Week, remember that where you charge your devices matters.

Charge phones, tablets, laptops, and other battery-powered devices on a hard, flat surface like a table, desk, or floor. Beds, couches, and pillows can trap heat and block airflow, increasing the risk of overheating.

✅ Charge on hard surfaces
✅ Use manufacturer-approved chargers
✅ Unplug devices when fully charged
✅ Keep charging devices away from flammable materials

🇺🇸 Applications are now OPEN for the 2027 Government-in-Action Youth Tour!
Your D.C. adventure could start right here.

Each year, BEC Power selects a local student for an all-expenses-paid leadership experience that brings young people from electric cooperative communities together to explore Washington, D.C., learn about government and public service, and build connections with students from across Texas and the country.

During National Co-op Month, we’re celebrating the ways cooperatives invest in the next generation — and Youth Tour is one of them.

Participants have the opportunity to:
🏛️ Experience our nation’s capital
🇺🇸 Learn more about government and public service
💡 Develop leadership skills
🤝 Meet students from communities across Texas and the nation
⚡ Discover the cooperative difference
📅 Applications are due January 4, 2027.
