Wildwood Acres is really doing well with their beautiful herd!
Many of the listed animals in this post are closely related to our herdsires and our doe Essie, from Wildwood Acres.
We are extremely pleased with our offspring from our Wildwood Acres animals. Congratulations Angie Jo Meyer, Blake Meyer and family!

Congratulations to JMW Acres and Wildwood Acres .
Maverick is maternal brother to our herdsire Sabre, and paternal brother to our other herdsire Lynx. We are really liking how those genetic lines are combining and have some doe kids combining Lynx and Sabre's genetics who will be kidding next year.

At 2 years old, Sabre is maturing into a very nice looking buck. So far he has not enjoyed much of the limelight around here, but that is simply because we have only freshened one of his daughters.

We have a nice handful of very promising looking junior does out of Sabre that will freshen as yearlings in 2027.

Interestingly, we also have many grandaughters of his on the ground because of our retained buck "Plum Bush S Cream Soda".

Cream Soda was such a standout buckling, and out of one of our bigger milk producers, so we kept him around and used him quite heavily last fall on our juniors.

So next year is Sabre's year! His one little daughter that freshened this year will be formally intruduced as we get does clipped and prepped for linear appraisal.

Last kids of the season! Spotted Fever OMC Mary Jane kidded triplets with ease as a yearling FF. Two does and one buck.
These kids are sired by Plum Bush S Biscoff.
This brings our total kids for the year to 50 living kids on the ground.
25 bucks and 25 does.
Plus an additional 3 kids we lost due to unfortunate kidding situation and deformities.
With 21 does kidding that's an average of 2.5 kids per doe.
We had two sets of quads and many sets of triplets and twins.
We had only one singleton birth this year!
9 of the does were yearling first fresheners!

Margarita was the highest producer on our most recent milk test last week at 5.7 lbs!
Better Wayz Margarita Morning is really turning out to be a phenomenal doe. She got a very late start in her productive life, freshening for the first time this year as a 4 year old.
Margarita kidded buck/doe twins, sired by Farm Wildwood Gallant Lynx on April 18. She did really well at first but at about 2 weeks fresh she came down with a high fever and very congested udder. We were very concerned!
Thankfully we were able to successfully treat her mastitis and she started getting better. Her udder is almost back to normal on the "bad side".
To say I was pleasantly surpised when she gave us her 5.7 lb milk test last Friday is an understatement!
This girl has the strongest lateral attachments and longest fore udder I've seen on a doe in my barn. Her rear udder height is impressive as well.
Her medial is coming in nicely which is improving her teat placement little by little. Still wish I could do a little better at photos, but I'll keep trying. The side profile doesn't really do her udder justice. It's really just more impressive than the photo even shows.
In our opinion her doe kid out of Farm Wildwood Gallant Lynx has the potential to be one of our best home grown doelings! She's just beautiful, as is her brother.
It would be so interesting to know what Margarita could have done as a 2-3 year old, but I'm grateful she settled easily for us as a 4 year old here on our farm!
