Loco Moco or is it Fusion!..

This past Sunday I meet with a friend of mine, Ian from and we had a wonderful conversation.

After leaving, I said to myself “Dude you really haven’t made any Island Fusion food” so what did this Dude do?

Yep! You guessed it! Made this Dudes take on an island classic, Loco Moco. Definitely not traditional but with my take of Fusion, in my style of cooking.

Build:
-Ground Beef
-Garlic White Rice
-Hot Honey
-Chipotle Sauce Bendsauce
-Sunnyside Up Egg
-Garnished with/Green onion, Cilantro, Lime and a Mandarin wedge

Honestly one of the best dishes of 2023 so this Dude says Thank You Ian for the inspiration! Cheers to you my friend!

I lived in the Puget Sound area for ten years (specifically Oly, WA and a short 6 months in Seattle, WA) and in that time got the opportunity to experience some amazing Asian cuisine. Now I’m super excited to see that Central Oregon has built a similar scene with new Asian ingredients and restaurants.

Are Mondays just like a Bloody Mary!..

If you were to ask this Dude I would have said No way! You can thank the military for not liking tomato juice. Then this little lady came into my life and said “Cj, give them a try!”

Well, this dude isn’t passing up an opportunity to see what’s all the rave about and BOOM! It’s like like my tastebuds were alive again after not having them for many years!

So point being..

Are Bloody Mary’s like Mondays, YES! Not everyone likes them. Some like them regular and others want spicy. Tomato flavor or with a tone of seasoned flavor. Garnish or no garnish. Salt rim or no salt rim. But regardless of what your style is we all need them on Monday to makeup for the weekend and also to jumpstart the week ahead.

Hey Family!..

What’s Cracking, not too much over here. Just wanted to take a moment and introduce the Dude behind ForkNBend.

Humm.. where do I start!

Born- This Dude likes to say he is a born and raised a WestCost Dude, with the blood of the Pacific Ocean running through him.

Lived- Cali, Oregon and Washington

Hobbies- Hiking, Camping, Boating, Scuba Diving (though it’s been many years), Carpentry projects, Love Road Trips, Exploring New Restaurants and Breweries, Cooking and of course Photography.

Career achievements- Auto Body Manager/Lead Painter, Remodeling Contractor, Cook-Chef, Photography Business Owner and Active National Guard Member.

Personal Opinion- Treat people as you would want to be treated. “Life is the way you make it!..”

Additional knowledge- May not be a father by blood but .unique is my Pawdaughter and my BFF has brought two of the most special little ladies into my life.

5 year plan- Continue to build a meaningful life though not only my own life but also Social Media and Career Opportunities. Dream of becoming a fulltime brewery photographer. One day have a home in Tumalo, OR.
