Rainy day? Let the crock pot do the cooking. 🌧️🍲

🍲 Crock Pot Chicken & Wild Rice Soup

It feels very fall without being another pumpkin/apple recipe, and it’s perfect for a rainy day.

You’ll need:

1–1½ lbs chicken breasts or thighs
1 cup wild rice blend
3 carrots, chopped
3 celery stalks, chopped
1 small onion, diced
6 cups chicken broth
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp dried thyme
Salt & pepper
1 cup half & half or heavy cream

Easy directions:
Add everything except the cream to your crock pot. Cook on low for 6–7 hours or high for 3–4 hours. Shred the chicken, stir in the cream, and let it warm through for another 10–15 minutes.

Serve with some crusty bread from our bakery and you've got a rainy-day dinner. 🌧️🍲

🌈🐷 Local pigs, local pork, and ... local soap!

At your locally owned Local Acres Marketplace, we're proud to carry products from , whose pigs are raised right here in Central Oregon. You can find their delicious local pork sausage in our Meat Department!

But the goodness doesn't stop there. The lard from these locally raised pigs is also used to make amazing soaps, including this Sparkle Cult Rainbow Soap! 🌈 It smells just like that Fruit Stripe gum from childhood and is guaranteed to bring a smile to your face with every use.
