Pathfinder Farm Distillery Handcrafted MD Spirits from our family farm and distillery in Keedysville, MD! We grow our own grain, distill fine whiskey, and bottle fruit-infused moonshine.

September Release: Pipe & Barrel Smoked Corn Wh***ey

This happy accident is arriving a little late, but it's unlike anything Pathfinder has released yet! Aged in a former Smoketown Brewery barrel that housed dark, smoky Walter's Spirit b**r, this experimental wh***ey traded corn sweetness for a lighter body, earthy smoke, Scotch-like notes, and dark b**r undertones (50% ABV). This is the only barrel of its kind and once it's gone, it won't be replicated.

Moonshine doesn’t have to mean taking a shot and questioning your recent life choices.

Flavored moonshine can be pretty easygoing.

Apple Pie works great with c***r. Blueberry and lemonade make an easy summer drink. Orange Cranberry pairs nicely with ginger ale or club soda. And sometimes the right answer is just pouring it over ice.

Before the fruit, spices, and sweetness get involved, moonshine starts with the grain.

That’s why our Red Corn Moonshine is a pretty good place to start if you want to understand the Pathfinder story.

It connects right back to the heritage Bloody Butcher red corn grown on our family farm and gives you a chance to taste more of that grain-forward character before barrel aging or added flavors change the spirit.

From there, you can wander into Apple Pie, Blueberry, Orange Cranberry, and whatever else catches your attention.

Yes, it's going to be HOT. Temperatures are expected to reach 100°, but our vendors will be here with plenty of fresh produce, baked goods, meats, local crafts, and everything else you've been looking forward to. Nothing says summer quite like a simple cocktail made with local flavors. Try this easy Blueberry Lemon Fizz featuring Pathfinder Farm Distillery's Blueberry Moonshine:

2 oz Pathfinder Farm Distillery Blueberry Moonshine
4 oz lemonade
Splash of your favorite lemon-lime soda
Fresh Spruce Run Farm blueberries for garnish

Fill a glass with ice, add the moonshine and lemonade, then top with a splash of lemon-lime soda for a little extra fizz. Garnish with a few fresh blueberries and enjoy!

I don't know about you, but I'm still processing the loss of Dolly Parton yesterday, and if there’s one thing Dolly taught us, it’s that sometimes a little country music, a good story, and perhaps a little something from the still can help get you through.

As it happens, Dolly actually recorded a song called “Daddy’s Moonshine Still.” So if you’re looking for a fitting way to raise a glass to one of country music’s greatest storytellers, Pathfinder Farm Distillery will be at the Middletown Farmers Market this Thursday.

We’ll drink to Dolly. We’ll listen to the songs. We’ll remember the legend. Dolly...we will always love you!
