Today was a difficult day at Breadcrumb Acres Ranch.
We unexpectedly lost Paco, one of our Great Pyrenees livestock guardian dogs, in a tragic accident.
Paco would have turned 4 years old on June 4th. While his time with us was far too short, he left a lasting mark on our farm and on everyone who knew him.
Anyone who followed our page knows Paco was quite the character. He was our troublemaker, our escape artist, and our unofficial neighborhood ambassador. He never met a stranger and was always convinced there was somewhere he needed to be and someone he needed to visit.
Despite keeping us on our toes, Paco took his job seriously. He spent countless nights watching over livestock, patrolling pastures, and helping protect the animals entrusted to our care.
Tonight, the farm feels a little quieter.
Perhaps the hardest part has been watching his son, Paquito, trying to understand why his dad isn’t here. We are thankful that Paco’s legacy will continue through him and through the many memories Paco gave us during his short but meaningful life.
Thank you, Paco, for the laughs, the adventures, the headaches, and the years of faithful service to our farm.
Run free, big guy. You will be deeply missed.
❤️ Paco
