Did a cider cocktail help win the American Revolution?⁠

This weekend, we're leisurely reading our and raising a glass to cider's deep-rooted revolutionary history with the classic Stone Fence cocktail.⁠
⁠
The Stone Fence was a staple in colonial taverns. Legend has it that in 1775, Ethan Allen and his Green Mountain Boys downed rounds of this potent hard cider and rum blend for a dose of liquid courage just hours before their successful predawn raid to capture Fort Ticonderoga from the British.⁠

We've given this historic drink an orchard-to-glass upgrade by swapping standard cider our very own ice cider, The Spy Who Came In From the Cold, and apple brandy.⁠

🍾 The Stone Fence⁠
⁠
• 2 oz Apple Brandy (dark rum, bourbon, or whiskey also work!)⁠
• 1 dash Angostura Aromatic Bitters⁠
• Top with Seminary Hill's The Spy Who Came In From the Cold⁠
• Add to a Collins glass filled with ice⁠
• Garnish with a fresh mint sprig⁠
