Acutely aware that we are in *peak fall* so I’m soaking up every bit of warmth on my skin & long shadows & stunning foliage landscapes & sun-drenched winter squash. Trust me that this place will be gorgeous and warm and welcoming in all seasons, but this one feels particularly beautiful and fleeting. 🍁

I just realized that today, October 12th, marks ONE MONTH of being open at our new home on Upper Main!!! I could not be happier to be here or more thrilled at the love and support we’ve received since moving. A sweet customer told me this weekend that she loves coming to The Pantry because she can tell that I really love what I do, and it’s so true. Small biz owners know the struggle of never ever being able to fully clock out of work, and these past couple months I have been working all day every day to make this transition a reality. The daily work is probably not stopping anytime soon (january rest, I’m coming for you!) but it’s incredibly rewarding to truly enjoy (mostly) the labor of running this business.

I also could have never done this without Dayna Halprin, who has been working alongside me in the shop and also taking care of most things in the house while I’m glued to the computer while also setting up a brand new business, Day’s Sandwiches & Smoothies. Dayna—I would choose this life with you every time. Thank you so much for everything.

Also a huge shoutout to Jill C. Smith Photography Brands for some beautiful shop photos that I just got back from our shoot last week that provided me a very easy photo for this very impromptu but important post. Cannot wait to share more of Jill’s work with you all.

Anyway, if you made it this far—here’s to many many more months here. Thanks for being along for the ride ❤️

Yesterday was one of those pretty perfect days in town. Art hung throughout the shop from Callicoon Artwalk, the very first Day’s Sandwiches & Smoothies grab & go selling out nearly instantly, lots of joy, lines at both counters (Gluten Free Bakery - Sullivan County Catskills-NYC-PHILLY and myself) all day, a live performance from Ramona Jan, art purchases, smiling faces, etc etc etc.

While today is bound to be rainy, we’ll be sure to have the same good energy, good eats, hot coffee, solid grocery selection, and so much more for you.

It’s lookin’ like a daily farmers’ market in here! We’re so lucky to have so many local growers and we LOVE featuring their produce at the Pantry. Off the top of my head, right now we got:

🧄 garlic from Unbroken Acres
🥬 so many greens, turnip & radish bunches, carrots, and fennel from Willow Wisp Organic Farm
🍅 plum tomatoes and arugula from Good Find Farm
🎃 several squash varieties, kale bunches, herb bunches, mini cukes, and peppers from Arro Farm
🍐 asian pears from Wild Russet Farm
🥔 fingerling potatoes, mixed daikon radish, and shallots from brenda

Don’t even get me started on the local dairy & egg & meat sourcing! (That’ll have to be another post). Can’t make the Callicoon Farmers' Market on Sundays? We got you fully covered for the other 6 days of the week.

What an incredible first week of biz up here at 16 Upper Main 🥹 you all are really showing up & loving the space & hanging out at all the seating areas & filling those carts exactly like I had hoped. It’s really wild to see something you’ve been dreaming of for so long come to life—thanks for making this happen for me, too!

Oh boy oh boy. See y’all TOMORROW ✨✨

It feels really fortuitous to be reopening the shop on the Jewish New Year! New year, new pantry, new memories, new products, new building. We’ll be celebrating with lots of treats from Beach Lake Bakery & County Road Bakery - Sullivan County Catskills, some ch*****ne from Callicoon W**e And Tapas Bar, and lots of good energy in our beautiful new space. Really hope to see you there.
