Thank you, Stover’s Rock Island Fest for capturing a memory! It was the first time any of the family has traveled to a contest with me and it was our best event yet!

So excited to make this list for the first time! All 4 on this list were from the Stover, Mo Stover’s Rock Island Fest BBQ contest this weekend! Congrats again to Smoked By The Brooks BBQ on the GC and all the others making this list!

Four teams earned their place in the 350 Club this weekend! Smoked By The Brooks led the way with an impressive 352.5484*, followed by 10 In The Pit BBQ at 351.9656, All Smoked Up BBQ at 351.4056, and Alaska BBQ Mann with 350.8228. Congratulations to all four teams on an outstanding performance!

Ella, Wilbur and I made it home from The Kansas City Barbeque Society Stover, MO Stover’s Rock Island Fest. There were only 10 teams that made it so everyone was guaranteed a top 10!

When the Smart Chicken legs were done and turned in, I tasted a keg and told Ella we were in the ballpark today! I liked it and was scared of the curse of liking my cook!

Prairie Fresh Ribs were tender when I cut them so I knew they were done and I was afraid they were over! 4/6 judges gave me a 9 on tenderness, so that made me feel good!

I made a lot of changes in the recipes today and they seem to have paid off! I hope Jody sees this and sees that I added Momma’s Hot Honey into my sauce mix for chicken! Loot N' B***y BBQ Gold Star Chicken Rub and Heath Riles BBQ Competition Rub! Blues Hog Champions Blend, Smoke This BBQ sauce and Momma’s Hot Honey! Chicken Fried BBQ Game Over brine!

Heath Riles Garlic Jalapeño and Competition rubs, Butter Bath and Peach Habanero Glaze with Blues Hog Champions Blend and Smoke This and Peach Habanero Glaze.

How we Shook out today:
Chicken 🐔- 2nd place
Ribs - 4th place
Overall 2nd - RGC!! 351.9656 our first ever 350+

Wilbur says good morning from Stover, MO for The Kansas City Barbeque Society Stover’s Rock Island Fest! Chicken brining this morning because we were lazy last night…ribs are seasoned with Heath Riles BBQ seasonings and in the Gateway Drum Smokers…Needles Up!!!
