Last week, we had our first CSA box. Several people received a great box with carrots, orange cauliflower, romaine lettuce, cabbage, beets, purple broccoli and red potatoes (see first picture). This group has committed to the weekly or biweekly boxes that we hope to distribute into October. This week we have cabbage, zucchini, squash, Swiss chard, red and blue potatoes and eggs., along with recipes for Swiss chard and roasted vegetables. Message me if you want to join for $25/box. Pickup is tomorrow or Friday between 3:30-4:30

Sometimes the story is more compelling than what we can visually see, or in the case of Taylor Made 's Local Legend, what we can taste. Did you know that every burger you had was totally prepared for you by the dynamic duo of Carrie and Mindy Crawford ? While Carrie prepared and cooked each and EVERY burger, Mindy finished it off with the bacon onion jam and garlic aioli (also prepared by Carrie) and served it quickly to each customer. But that is the end of the story, the beginning started with grass-fed beef from Gogel Pastures, lettuce from Carrie's Garden or Helming Family Farm and the hours of labor and amazing taste of the homemade buns from Ruby at Mama Zz Cottage . This is supporting local at its best, it’s collaboration at its best! Along with the whole community getting behind Burger Week to support United Way of Perry County this is what will sustain the local economy and the people working hard every day to bring their passion to life. So vote for Carrie's burger because it tastes so, so good and is prepared with the hard work that is her signature but vote with your dollars with all the other participating establishments that have their own story to share and are all helping support a very worthy charity. FYI, Carrie will be back at it tomorrow for the last day of Burger Week, Saturday, June 13 from 11-2.
