Remember when I said last weekend that we have never put out our hot weather crops this early before? Remember how I said we decided to gamble on the weather predictions for the next 10-day forecast and put them out anyway? I HOPE you remember what we said if you bought them last week to watch the low temperatures and be ready to protect your plants if the forecasts changed.

WARNING: we now are expecting colder low temperatures Thursday and Friday nights. Your tomato, pepper, cucumber, and melon plants may be very unhappy those nights if you don’t move them into either your house or garage for the night. If they are planted, cover them in the evening with an old sheet or inverted pot or bucket. Don’t cover with plastic or allow the plants to touch the cover as cold will transfer through the covering.

We plan to move our more delicate divas back into the greenhouse for at least a couple of days. Lessons ignored over time bite us sometimes too. 😢
