In light of the tragedy and destruction we’re witnessing in Nepal, I’ve been thinking about what the garden has taught me about life, loss, death, and regeneration.
Nature continually reminds us that life is built on interdependence, diversity, and nourishment. Nothing exists alone. Everything has a role. And even what dies becomes nourishment for what comes next.
That doesn’t make loss easy. It doesn’t take away grief. But I do believe understanding the way life on Earth regenerates can give us something to hold onto when destruction is right in front of us.
These are the lessons I carry from the garden into my kitchen, my relationships, my business, and myself.
Maybe they can offer a little ease to someone else too.
