Anwar made a fun instagram video while reading one of Jennifer L. Scott - Author’s books in the bakery (see comments) recently, and someone commented that they find themselves telling everyone about The Daily Connoisseur (Jennifer’s You Tube Channel). I do too! I think it’s because she pulls the veil back on how to build and maintain a beautiful way of life in thought, as much as in deed.

Resultantly, she sort of gets lodged in ones thought life (I think I’ll play music and light a candle while I close the kitchen. I think I’ll eliminate every item from my closet that I don’t adore or need. I think I’ll listen to the Anne of Green Gables series while I sit on a Sunday afternoon and work on this jigsaw puzzle. I think I’ll have a cup of tea. I think I’ll make sure I have schedule theater & the chamber music festival onto my calendar otherwise I will never go. I think I’ll write an international bestseller…).

Very fun every time she weaves the shortbread into her content (always a stunning presentation), as she does at the 17:49 mark in this cosy fall video. Enjoy!

My grandma immigrated from Scotland and launched Laura’s Scottish Shortbread, then my mom took the reins with Bridlewood Scottish Shortbread, I took the slot as the 3rd generation of female Scottish Shortbread Momtrepreneurs… & just when all the wind had officially left my sails this summer… in came the 4th generation taking the lead! Samaria, Willow & Skye have started demoing with a tremendous sense of ownership (& talent!).

Watch out world.

Had the pleasure of meeting John Grisham at (my dear) Dot’s retirement party at Ivy Nursery this evening. (She promised to keep calling me once a month just to check in, even if it’s not to place an order).

Mr. Grisham didn’t know my shortbread, but graciously let me show him photos of the packaging and explain how each rabbit represents a member of our family. 🙂

Remarkably, we won a year’s worth of bacon at the game yesterday!

Funniest 15 minutes of fame ever as an astounding number of strangers recognized us on the way out and asked us if they could come to breakfast! Those who knew us asked us if they should expect bacon shortbread to come out this year.

(No, but we did sprinkle some atop chocolate covered shortbread once for Bacon Fest in Charlottesville 🍫 🥓).
