The Black-eyed Susan’s are really showing off right now, as well as a few zinnias starting to pop with some color!

We are looking for our second field to start blooming towards July, but guys, it’s been a hellacious start to the season. In the past 65 days since we planted, we’ve maybe had five days of rain, and some of those have been nothing more than a quick 30 min shower. It’s just not enough to really saturate the ground and make everything thrive, and hose water just isn’t the same as rain water! Everything is growing and we will have flowers, but it’s been the most challenging start to a season as of yet. Some solid rain would make the biggest difference! 🙏

Now that I have my weather complaints out of the way, we do have lots of beautiful yellow blooms about waste-high, which is a fun change from our typical wildflower fields! We’re estimating these blooms will stick around into July, but as always, Mother Nature has the final say.

Meet our newest addition to BWP: a rusty old horse trailer with a whole lot of character.

Time may have weathered her edges, but that’s exactly what makes her special. Draped in lace, softened with florals, and filled with cozy touches, she brings vintage charm and a touch of romance to every photo. Sometimes the most beautiful things aren’t perfect—they’re beautifully worn and full of stories.

A little update from the fields… we’re starting to see some blooms! 🌼

These fields will look a little different than our usual wildflower fields — not quite as tall or full — but we’re excited about them all the same. We’re expecting lots of beautiful yellow blooms with this field and due to them not being quite as tall (around knee high) feel as though they would be better suited for sitting and picnic-style sessions.

This is our first year growing perennials, so each season moving forward should become even more abundant and beautiful!

Because blooms will be limited in this field, we’ll only allow 2 sessions per hour out to help preserve the space and give everyone a great experience. Field sessions will also include access to:

✨ Flower Booth
✨ Swings
✨ Smaller Weeping Willow
✨ And soon, our flower-lined fence!

Now we just need this rain on the way to work its magic 🌧️

This combo of field space and props will be available May 30 – June 26 at our lower peak rate. After that, we’re hoping to see even more blooms coming in! 💛

WEATHER POLICY ANNOUNCEMENT ☀️🌧️

Hey friends! We’ve been getting lots of messages about the weather this weekend, so we just wanted to send out a quick reminder about our weather policy.

We kindly ask that everyone wait until the day of before making weather-related cancellations. As we all know, Virginia weather can change so quickly! Yesterday, many surrounding areas got rain, while we didn’t receive a single drop here. A lot of times storms shift out, so we like to wait as long as possible before making any decisions.

We truly appreciate your understanding with this! We just hate cancelling sessions days in advance when there’s still a strong chance the forecast could change.
