$91 not including tax and shipping to ship 3 pizzas that cost $8 in the grocery store.💀 God better have kneaded the dough for that much.

I grew up close to Home Run Inn Pizza on 31st st. I moved to WV in 1977. Would love to order online and have it shipped to me. I have found it in a few stores but it is rare when I do.
Experimented with the first of my naked Home Run Inn Pizza crusts. I whipped up a quick sauce with some Mutti Pomodoro crushed tomatoes mixed with some water and spices. Cheese was Grande Cheese Foodservice whole milk. I went with the standard baking instructions of 425°, but I popped it on the Baking Steel instead of the rock. I went 17 minutes on this bake. The crust came out tasting no different than buying one of the frozen pies at the supermarket, which was no surprise. The crust was flakey and buttery, and had a very unique flavor. There’s not a lot of frozen pizzas that taste anywhere close to this. It’s tasty, but not something I could eat daily. With my own choice of toppings, my pie tasted like their normal pie, but with ingredients that cater more to my taste profile. I’ll be messing around with the other crusts at different temps and sauce profiles to see how it affects the taste. Compared to other premade crusts, this is now one of my favorites. As I said in my earlier post, if this is something your budget allows, give it a try.

We all get lazy every now and then. Sometimes I want to make fresh dough, sometimes I don’t. I don’t always want to order delivery or eat out everyday, so I cheat. Often times it’ll be a frozen pizza, or a preformed crust where I can use my own higher quality ingredients. I’m a fan of Home Run Inn Pizza’s frozen pies. They’re one of the better brands at the grocery store, and far superior to the bigger names in that space in my opinion. I was scrolling Facebook yesterday and saw their post about ”Nothing but Crust” and I was intrigued as I do like their buttery and flakey crust. For $65 you get 6 naked (rawr!) pizza crusts to do whatever you want to them. It’s pricey, but you have to factor in everything that’s included. It was a very nice presentation for the product. The package included the 6 crusts packaged in two decorative pizza boxes, overnight shipping, styrofoam cooler panels, dry ice packets, a nice reusable pizza bag, and a free Christmas tree pizza ornament. The ornament itself sells for $13, and it’s an extremely nice ornament - very solid. Each of these crusts are made daily and aren’t just pulled off the freezer shelf. I think for everything that’s included, as well as the shipping and handling, it’s not a bad deal if you can fit it into your budget. It would be nice if these were available in stores, but I’m not sure if that is offered. I’ll be making one tonight and posting a review of the product.
