Salmon Safe Certified We farm on 23 acres in the fertile Center Valley of Chimacum, just ten miles south of Port Townsend in Jefferson County. Although we grow over 150 different varieties of crops, we are best known for our salad mix, bunched
kales and chards, radishes, strawberries, tomatoes, and tulips. We can be found weekly at both the Port Townsend Saturday and Wednesday Farmers Markets as well as the Sunday Chimacum Farmers Market. We have a lovely Farm Stand on the farm, which is located at 406 Center Rd. Our Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program is one of the longest running and most popular in the county. Members sign up at the beginning of the season and received a weekly box of produce along with a newsletter of farm happenings and recipes. Our other produce outlets include the PT Food Co-op and a variety of local retailers, restaurants, and caterers. Red Dog Farm is owned and operated by Karyn Williams, who has 16 years of farming experience under her belt. She created Red Dog Farm in 2008 with support from the Jefferson Land Trust and Landworks Colaborative. Currently in its sixth season, Red Dog Farm now employs twelve full-time staff as well as many other part-time seasonal help to grow 13 acres of crops. As well as growing cash crops, Red Dog Farm's mission is to respect and enhance the native wildlife and habitat on the farm. Chimacum Creek, which is spawning ground to wild Summer Chum and Coho salmon, runs along 1000' feet of the western boundary. We have set aside two acres of sensitive land for natural habitat preservation through a conservation easement. Through Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) funds, Red Dog Farm has planted over 2000 native trees in the past three years. We strongly believe in farming as part of a healthy, sustainable eco-system. Red Dog Farm is named for Karyn's faithful red border collie, Rupert Dandelion, who loves farming as much as she does.
