Join us on Saturday for a day of tree planting for pollinators! We are partnering with Partners for Climate Action to host a Tree Planting for Pollinators day this Saturday, May 2nd, and we invite you to come plant with us! We will be planting 100 native trees that support threatened native pollinators on our new land in Red Hook, and we are welcoming volunteers to visit and help us out.

All are welcome, kids included! (Though please, no pets.) The holes have already been dug, so no digging required! Volunteer tasks will include planting young trees, adding tree tubes for deer protection, and spreading mulch. Learn how to plant and care for bare-root trees, discover the importance of woody plants for caterpillars, bumblebees and more, and enjoy refreshments on a beautiful farm setting.

The event is free and open to all, but we ask that you please register in advance (link in bio). And remember, this will take place at our new land in Red Hook, not at our home base in Clermont! Volunteers should navigate to 7 Camp Lane, Red Hook, NY, and we will have signs out for where you can park. See you Saturday!

Winter CSA signups are open! Hudson Valley members: pickups start December 12th or 13th (Fridays in Kingston; Saturdays at the farm). Brooklyn members: pickups start December 20th.

Pickup Locations: On the Farm in Clermont, in Kingston at Village Grocery, and in Brooklyn with the , , , and the Greenwood Heights CSA.

Certified organic produce all winter long, including fresh greens from our greenhouses (lettuces, arugula, kale, collards, chard, spinach, cabbages, and pea shoots, and more) and a variety of seasonal storage crops (like carrots, beets, turnips, potatoes, sweet potatoes, winter radishes, onions, garlic, and a variety of winter squash). Plus options to add eggs from our own pasture-raised hens, and in Brooklyn options for bread, cheese, and apple shares, too!

Biweekly pickups (with some holidays skipped) from December through early April, with optional vacation weeks for schedule flexibility. Plus CSA member newsletters with recipe ideas and storage tips to help you make the most of your share!

Vegetable and fruit shares available at a 50% discount for members paying with SNAP/EBT. Subsidized shares are also available to those who need financial assistance regardless of SNAP eligibility status. Email us at [email protected] to inquire about SNAP and subsidized shares.

Thanksgiving Share sign-ups are OPEN! 🥕🥬🍠🧅🍎 Pickup Saturday, November 22nd at the farm in Clermont, and in Brooklyn with , , , and the Greenwood Heights CSA. An extra-large bounty of our certified organic produce, with a mix of fresh greens, cooking greens, root vegetables, winter squash, and more. It’s perfect for a holiday feast or to store into early winter. Optional add-ons (depending on location) include our own pasture-raised eggs, local apples, and maple syrup. Plus pre-order your Thanksgiving pies from (Farm pickup only; pie pickup takes place on Wednesday 11/26). Order by Sunday, November 16th (pie orders due by Nov 12th.) Link in bio.

Vegetable and apple shares are available at a 50% discount for those paying with SNAP/EBT thanks to the CSA is a SNAP! program! (And if your SNAP benefits are suspended, please contact us at [email protected] to discuss alternative options for signing up for your Thanksgiving share.)

Come visit us for an afternoon on the farm for our Fall Harvest Party! Sunday, October 12th, 12-4pm. We’ll have hay rides and farm tours, visits to our sheep, goats, and chickens, plus pumpkin carving and decorating, games, and more — plus food from the food truck!

Friends and family are welcome — but remember, please do not bring your pets! We do not allow pets on the farm for the health and safety of our farm animals and our fields and crops.

Hay rides/farm tours will take place at 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm. Other activities will take place throughout the afternoon. We hope to see you then!

The Hearty Roots Farm & Market Annual Seedling Sale is coming up! 🌱
May 10th & 11th / May 17th & 18th : 10-4pm. We will have more than 100 varieties of certified organic seedlings, all grown right here at Hearty Roots. Including more than 30 varieties of tomato plants 🍅 (heirlooms, slicers & cherry tomatoes), lots of peppers (both sweet and hot), greens, summer squash, cucumbers, melons, herbs, and flowers.
