Do you tag your calves? We learned the hard way last yr to try to keep our calves tagged! We lost a 6month old heifer to the neighbor and well ZERO of his are tagged and he doesn’t track ANY of his. How do you say ummm we believe that black heifer with all your blacks is ours? 😆
SO Saturday we cooked in the heat and got most worked- I try to have photos of the not tagged ones “just in case”…
We also moved 11 cows to the 2nd lease and took 2 cows to sale barn.
PS- I track EVERYTHING! 😉

Well we finally got Maggie home Sat and… she was gone Sunday. We’ve tried to catch Maggie for months! And she just would NEVER go in the corral.
Searched and searched our farm and neighboring farms. 9pm dad gets a call she’s about a mile down the road at a farm. Sooooo this will be fun!

Need advice and recommendations!

Last yr almost 40 Olives and backcrossed Olives (all my hard work) got picked off we think by coyotes.
Well we now have some sheep fencing around about 40 acres where the sheep are going, so coyotes shouldn’t be a problem, but we always have skunks 🦨 picking off my chickens.

Moving some chickens back to outside coop to free range. But I want them to go out to the field and not the yard of the house. So if you have a solar chicken door- please let me know the good, bad, the ugly! Is there a brand you absolutely LOVE?! Prices I see range $50-$200+

HELP!
How do you fix Jowl??
I was told it was like bacon 🥓 so I fried some up for BLT sandwiches

1) NOT BACON! It’s so fatty!!! 😬
2) Prob great for ham & beans 🤷🏻‍♀️
3) Feed it to the farm dogs?
4) Another option for human consumption??
