PSA 📢 apparently if you put corn or potatoes in your “chili”, it’s not chili!
It’s “Cowboy Soup” 😆 grandma said so and don’t argue with mawmaw bc she’ll get a switch.

The people have spoken
Beans in chili 🏆
Won by a landslide!
- so there you have it. Beans it is!

You know where your food comes from, but do you know lots of herds and flocks need protection? They hear mom and dad working and soon will be along side them!

I finished rendering my tallow and look at the difference in the color from the last batch!
Last steer was lost by the butcher and they ended up giving me fat after having to make another trip there. We won’t be using there any longer…
When I picked up my beef (different butcher) this year the tallow was missing… so I’m wondering if this tallow was actually mine as well. 😂
I’m going to guess the one on right was heavily finished out with corn.

My daughter and I had the conversation of chili today. And she said you know some people make chili without beans?! I replied yeah I know and to me that’s just sloppy joes in a bowl 🤣
Are you team beans or team no beans??
PSA - I googled chili and every photo had beans in it 😉

Eating me out of house home already.
They will be 4 weeks old Wednesday.
Canned food is SO expensive, but we don’t bat an eye and start it to give the pups a bit of nutrition besides milk, teach them to lick, help gut learn to start digesting soft food, and to help not pull momma Dixie down so awfully bad… they’ll continue nursing along with canned food until about 5 weeks and then I’ll mix in some tiny puppy kibble bc their teeth will be ready and they need to learn to chew. Once they have chewing down and being able to break the food by chewing (about 6 weeks) they transition to just the hard tiny puppy kibble. They will get colored collars this week and I’ll be going down the list for everyone to pick one out.
There’s 2 males left if you know anyone interested.
