We brought four big square bales out to the desert today.
This has been the toughest year I ever remember. Too hot, too dry and too long.
Our cows still are holding their own, carrying a calf, feeding a calf and traveling between grass and water.
We are gathering Oct 16 and 17th and bringing the girls home

They are ready
Romagnolas are built for extreme conditions and they look good. I have my Cynthia cow who is showing her ribs a little but all in all they look good still. She is red angus. So compare that to the Saler and the Romagnolas. Breed does matter.
If you have tough terrain and grass is few and far between. Then angus is not your best choice. They will go down hill faster than romagnolas or Saler

I do like red angus because they do well for the most part but our Romagnolas and Salers out preform them on every aspect. Better grazers, better mothers, more milk, more meat and longer legs with the drive to travel
For grass and water. On top of the bug resistance. I really am impressed this year with how they are doing

Hi all. I know alot of you hunt elk and deer or other game. But it isn’t a sure thing and with the cost of fuel and time off work ect.
I can guarantee you a freezer full with out the cold toes and missed shots. Or the bear spoiled meat.

I have a half of a beef (or 2 quarters) ready to go to butcher.

Same as always $7 a pound carcass weight. I pay the processing Approx weight will be 450-500+-
